This project is a collaboration between the Open Data Literacy program @ the UW iSchool, and the Washington State's Chief Information Office
A consortium of state agencies has built an in-house, free geo-coding service called WAMAS that converts addresses to lat/lon coordinates and provides general background like county locations, parcel numbers etc. But the coding team has not been able to keep documentation up-to-date for less experienced users, so smaller agencies, local governments and educational institutions have a really hard time figuring it out.
This project will develop a usability profile for the application, as well as create documentation to help OCIO improve training materials for the application. This should include an outreach plan, license agreement, and recommendations for how to make the code more accessible.
