I'm making this issue to clear out the Alpha/Beta/1.0 roadmaps of stuff that should be dealt with separately to the main development of OpenApoc

This includes Quality of Life and other Enhancements that improve upon the original game implementation or Features that are so niche they have little effect on gameplay to all but veteran users and those looking for more of a challenge. Please comment below and i will update the list.

You may notice I am a little lost and confused at this early stage in this forum and I think this is where this conversation goes.

  • Have robot deactivation malfunction and another movement phase where they would attack the most hated combatant.

  • Have armed civilian phase where they would attack the most hated combatant.

  • Have an armed sectoid phase inside and outside of the alien realm. "Just something so you can take sectoids along with you besides the hybrids".

  • Have an armed scientist phase where you take you technicians along to be able to reprogram Robots to your team or technicians team. "Scouts".

  • Sky drops onto active ufos without shields.

  • Agent filled torpedos to be able to do penetrative assaults on the floating UFOs.. "A Single Robot with Sword won an entire campaign for me at one point."

  • corporations buying and using X-com vehicles.

  • episode Arks where you could migrate a mothership full of combatants through episodes. "Triple Bunk Everything". "Global map the cityscape".

  • Back to this point of being able to mind control and load the unarmed hostiles onto the vehicle for recruits. "You know it". "Surrogates". "Body shields".

  • Being able to get around the city in walkways using building time would be useful added actions.

  • A freelancer staff roster would allow for other corporates to be able to hire your employees for matters of intelligence.

  • Metropol and Marsec Training units that take the buildings of the corporation with the security of the building and trains them during and external to alien intervention.

  • Base mining seemed to be a popular mod to be able to use Sappers to reform your base of operations.

  • Cityscape building sappers seemed popular with the underground being a saved game in the name of the building in the playset. Using the dynamic of changed agents/aliens civilians/sectiods scientists/robots and pretty much changing all the tactical map data for the game into the active version. "Using Xcom base sprites".

  • Stock market interface like the end of the month where you buy and sell shares in companies instead of or alongside reparations payments.

  • VR/AR education of agents into scientists and vice versa.
    Robots into Scientists, Sectoids into scientists, Civilians into scientists, Aliens into scientists, Aliens into Janitors...

  • Because its getting so long in the tooth you may need to go back to Cydonia(North cityscape exit) again or even the dark side of the moon(South cityscape exit).

  • Europas snow environment had come to mind as another "long tooth" episode. "and the Aquanauts"....(West cityscape exit)

  • Utilize AI Art generation to be able to cut down sprite development time."as there is a lot of this technique applicable to this engine" mentioned on FB.
