This emergency security update, released on July 2nd, 2020, introduced a checkpoint at publicly-known honest block 000000059ec8884fa4fbbdbe46c09cfb4ecba281dfa2351a05084e817c1200ae, height 640650. All major mining pools and exchanges adopted this update.

On July 10th, a 1300 block attack chain was released on the BTG network. It was dated back to July 1st, before the checkpoint, and was subsequently rejected by the network.
