About us

Nuclear Power Ghana (NPG) has been established to serve as the Owner and Operator of Ghana’s future nuclear power plant. It was formed as a Limited Liability Company in July 2019 and is sponsored by the Volta River Authority (VRA), Bui Power Authority (BPA). NPG will oversee the construction and subsequent commissioning of the nuclear power plant. It is also responsible for site selection, negotiations with vendors, and training of personnel to safely run and operate the nuclear power plant. NPG works closely with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to ensure that Ghana’s programme progresses steadily in a phased approach according to international standards.
