Last month, we successfully launched the inaugural Africa CEO Outlook! We engaged over 130 CEOs across East, West and Southern Africa to uncover insights on the region's business landscape. Key highlights included: (1) A focus on the impact of geopolitics, (2) CEOs sharing strategies for navigating economic challenges and leveraging growth opportunities (especially in tech and AI), (3) ESG being a top priority for sustainable business practices and (4) workforce dynamics (and the importance of talent management). During our forum, when discussing the continent’s current economic outlook and its impact on businesses, Dr. Priscilla Twumasi Baffour emphasised, “As a country, we need to look at the overreliance on imports. It is critical to work on value addition and build the industrial base.” These insights showcase the resilience and adaptability of African businesses. Last month, The KPMG Cyber Day initiative enabled us to go beyond the corporate world and share knowledge with young children, teenagers and teachers at The Accra Academy School. The primary objective of this initiative was to educate the students on the importance of cyber security and to empower them to create a trusted digital world. It was a great success, and the school commended the firm for their commitment and knowledge sharing. Special thanks to the Cyber Day presenters and the Cyber Team.

Last month, our Cyber team had the privilege of engaging with students at The International Community School. During this session, KPMG’s cyber professionals covered a range of important topics, including safe social media practices, cyberbullying, online gaming etiquette, responsible use of AI, deepfakes, and career opportunities in cybersecurity. The students walked away with valuable insights on how to navigate cyberspace safely, manage online risks, and protect themselves from cyberbullying. They also learned practical tips on setting privacy controls on social media. It was an enriching session, and we’re proud to have contributed to their understanding of online safety and digital responsibility.
