The relevance of salt throughout time cannot be overemphasized, and Abdul Razak Adam, CEO of salt mining company, Electrochem Ghana Ltd., strongly believes it will play a significant role in Ghana’s future. The country has recently demonstrated enormous potential in salt production, following strong efforts made by both the government and the business sector, with salt expected to become one of Ghana's key foreign exchange earners by 2026 and a top industrial earner by 2030. The progress Ghana has chalked is being spearheaded by Electrochem, which took over the Ada Songhor Salt concession in 2020. Currently, the company exports to several countries in West Africa, including Benin, Niger, Côte d’Ivoire, Cameroon, and Nigeria, and is positioned to become the highest export earner of Ghana. This video sheds more light on the company and the immense potential in the salt industry. #saltproduction #export #ghana #trade #afcfta #gipc ElectroChem Ghana Limited African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) Secretariat Ghana Export Promotion Authority Minerals Income Investment Fund Ghana

The Centre, in collaboration with the Ghana National Chamber of Commerce & Industry (GNCCI), held a B2B meeting on 24th July 2024, focused on driving growth in the agricultural sector. The event brought together Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and Multinational Enterprises (MNEs), along with stakeholders from both the public and private sectors, to discuss ways to bolster Ghana’s agricultural sector and its value chains in response to recent economic changes. Speaking to participants, the Centre’s Director of Investor Services, Mr Edward Ashong-Lartey, noted that the need for value-chain services, typically in the Agricultural sector, has increased because of the COVID-19 pandemic, which disrupted value-chains and impacted businesses negatively. He also highlighted the GIPC’s role in offering MSME support, by matching foreign affiliates with local suppliers. Mr Ashong-Lartey expressed optimism that the B2B meeting will facilitate meaningful interactions between MSMEs and multinationals and create a pathway for mutually beneficial partnerships. He then concluded by encouraging enterprises (both foreign and local) to reach out to GIPC’s Aftercare team to resolve their post-establishment issues. Taking her turn, the Head of Marketing at GNCCI, Grace Dzeble, mentioned that her outfit was focused on fostering partnerships for businesses within the country. This, according to her, was necessary to trade effectively under the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA). Subsequently, participants were given the opportunity to pitch their businesses, setting the stage for potential collaborations. The event then dovetailed into a networking session to allow participants to interact with each other, and create the required connections to move their companies forward. #gipc #aftercare #business #networking #entrepreneurship #agriculture Ghana National Chamber of Commerce and Industry Victoria Cobbah Isaac Boakye Beatrice Gyamfi mintah salomey grace dzeble Vivian Ampadu AGI [Association of Ghana Industries] Polytex Industries Inc ETG Curechem IWAD Ghana Ltd.
