Yesterday, June 7, 2024, we commemorated Green Ghana Day by organising a climate education and tree planting project for the schoolchildren in Ayeduase R/C Primary and Junior High School in Kumasi to instill the spirit of environmental sustainability and stewardship. We engaged a large section of students at the school, comprising both primary and junior high school children, in exciting hours of climate education. The students were taught basic facts about the environment, including the rate of deforestation in the country, the importance of recycling and environmental conservation, the growing crisis of climate change, and the role that everyone can play in helping to solve ecological problems at local, national, and global levels. After the lessons, our team, staff, and students participated in tree-planting exercises with 20 seedlings and made pledges to take the message of climate action seriously back to their communities. We believe it is important to teach the young ones about sustainability because the more they are educated about climate change, pollution, deforestation, and other climate issues from an early age, the more likely they will choose to be part of the solutions now and in the future. Many thanks to the authorities of the school for embarking on this project with us. #ClimateChange #Sustainability #GreenGhana #Education

We're thrilled to share our recent success in bridging the skills gap in research and data analysis, affirming our commitment to quality education. Building on the success of our inaugural 2023 workshop, we hosted the second edition—a comprehensive 2-day workshop focused on Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) in Research and Data Analysis. This workshop, held from May 24-25, 2024, at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), was organized in partnership with the Social Sciences Society and the Responsible AI Lab of Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi. Themed "Empowering Data Literacy: Leveraging SPSS & Ethical AI for Effective Research and Data Analysis," the 2024 workshop aimed to empower participants with the skills to effectively use SPSS, Data Analysis, ethical use of AI in research and how to master academic writing in their academic, research, and professional endeavours. Over 500 attendees benefited from interactive sessions, hands-on exercises, and expert-led discussions facilitated by esteemed professionals, including Ing. Dr. Henry Nunoo-Mensah, PE-GhIE, Master Godfred Badu (Teaching Assistant of John-Paul S. Banchani), and Master Philos Habib. We extend our heartfelt appreciation to our partners, team members, volunteers, sponsors, and media partners for their crucial roles in making this event a success. We're especially grateful to our Founder, Prince Dormenyo and the entire KNUST community for their unwavering support. Together, we are shaping the future of data literacy and research excellence, making a lasting impact. Photo credit: Gilbert Akyen #QualityEducation #Impact #Research #SPSS #KNUST #DataAnalysis
