Someone once told me there's no money in Game Development I'm here to prove them wrong. - G119
In 2019 I became a part of the Mixed Reality Lab which is a small research lab on Brigham Young University campus dedicated to teaching students about mixed reality development. This is where I learned how to use Unity and created my fist VR project called Elemental VR.
Elemental VR was an built using SteamVR with the HTC Vive and while simplistic showed me the incredible feeling that comes from firing a fireball out of your hand in Virtual Reality. It didn't take much to get me hooked on developing.
After Elemental VR I became a research assistant in the BYU MR lab. During that time I researched, developed and prototyped several Mixed Reality applications. One of the topics I researched was how to use Virtual Reality for exercise. Self Aid arcade came from that research. It was a game showcasing the amount of exercise one could get from games in Virtual Reality.
With a year of research and development in Mixed Reality under my belt I set out to build something I wanted to build. Sail is my current project and is my way of pushing the oculus quest to it's limits. As I've pushed the quest to it's limits I've found my own skills being stretched and refined.
