#Solidarity Last weekend, our Guadalajara team participated in the first 3K & 5K “Pink & Blue” race organized entirely by GEODIS to raise awareness on breast and prostate cancer. The course was family friendly to encourage employees and their relations to join, as subscriptions also translated into a donation to support the NGO Cómplices A.C that helps local cancer patients. We congratulate all 300 participants, the 6 winners, our partner Proyecto Impetuosa, a local all-female beer brewing company, and organizers that proudly contributed to this fund-raising event! Optimizing logistics flows and processes is the essence of Supply Chain Management. An expertise that our EMEA Business Excellence team was happy to share at the Monozukuri workshop - the Japanese term for “manufacturing” - organized by TECOR Lean & Kaizen Consulting, in cooperation with the S.O.S. Children’s Villages Foundation in Serbia. During this solidarity initiative, participants were able to practice Lean methodology - especially decreasing operation time and reducing waste in the process - by assembling bicycles intended for children supported by the NGO’s aid program. Plastic collection for a cause The NGO Cómplices A.C recognized GEODIS for its dedication to the “Recycle vs. Cancer” initiative aiming at supporting cancer patients with limited resources in the region of Jalisco, Mexico. For that, earnings made as a result of PET plastics collection and recycling are donated by the organization to expand these patients’ access to medicines, checkups, and even surgeries. Demonstrating exceptional commitment and solidarity, our Guadalajara teams gathered around 150 kilograms of recyclables so far in 2023. This achievement established our GEODIS warehouse as the central collection point, with the introduction of a new heart-shaped box that also facilitates the process and further encourages our people’s motivation to recycle responsibly.
