Please accept our invitation to register for the 7th edition of the AIRC Golf Day to be held on Sunday 24th November at the Dom Pedro Old Course, Vilamoura. If you have friends feel free to invite them as guests & please pass on the contents of this email so they are informed. This is the second oldest course in the Algarve, originally designed by Frank Pennink, it opened in 1969, with major renovation by Martin Hawtree in 1996. This par 73 course hosted the Portuguese Open in 1979 and is often referred to as the “Grande Dama” of Algarve golf courses. It is not super-long, 6,476 yards (5,913 metres) from the member (yellow) tees; it features many changes in elevation in a parkland style with pine-lined fairways, where accuracy can yield a greater benefit than shot distance. It features only 1 water hole and bunkers are not punitive. This course has won many industry awards, together with golfer favourite accolades and regularly features in European “Top 10” to play lists. Please remember that this event provides help for elderly day care; local child-care charities & local food poverty organizations in Almancil, Quarteira & Vilamoura. SO PLEASE GIVE GENEROUSLY The event will be a shotgun start as teams of 4; Dom Pedro is offering us a complete package of practice range, a shared buggy & 18 holes of golf on a world ranked championship course. Breakfast will be provided & a buffet lunch is included in the entry donation. The event is scheduled to finish around 6pm. There is ample parking available at the course & a lunch-only option is available to non-golfers and guests. The cost will be €185 per golfer & €50 for dining only guests. Your reply to this invitation serves as a registration only & is non-binding. No financial commitment is required at this time. This is our autumn fundraiser for our nominated charity/local causes, so as in previous editions your entry will include a donation to our charity fund. We would also like to encourage sponsors to participate with a donation of €250 per nominated hole & of course, we welcome all donations. Please reply to either of the organizers listed below indicating status (player, diner or sponsor) and numbers of each. We are limited to 80 players so allocation will be on a first come, first served basis. Playing format & full details will be confirmed nearer the date. If you know of anybody who may be interested in this event please pass the word!! Email your registration to: [email protected]

can you help
Please help! Our micro swimming team at Leyland Barracudas Swimming Club have reached the Micro League National final at the end of November in Corby. This is a fantastic achievement by our young swimmers and this is where we need your help. We would like to give each of our swimmers (all 40 of them) a t-shirt to commemorate the occasion and to show that we are the Green Army! To cover the cost of this, if there are any businesses out there who would be kind enough to sponsor the t-shirts please can you get in touch. For just £100 we will put your company logo on the t-shirts, you will get publicity on social media and on the day at the event. All the funds raised will count towards our Cash for Kids campaign. Enabling the club to win further funding in the area. If you would like to be a part of this local journey, please email [email protected] with your logo and our club will invoice you. This is a fantastic opportunity to get your business out there on commemorative tee-shirts for the kids in our community. #business #leyland Leyland Barracudas ASC Alexandra Fairhurst Emily Shorrock Danielle Brady Liz Lynch Dave Hayes Perfect Recruitment Ltd Perfect Construction Andrew Daniels Dip, MCIPR

Week two is complete and the weekend has really mixed up the leader board. All teams have managed to reach Glasgow and all but 3 have managed to reach Broadacre North Allerton. Atletico Building Systems still take a clear lead already making it past Manchester Airport, Their progress is so substantial that they could potentially jet off for a few days and still maintain their lead. There is tough competition for second place and the race is on to see who can be the first to see the boys in blue at Everton Stadium, with only 2 miles between teams Completely Floored and Not Fast Just Furious. Walking 9-5 have dropped off slightly leaving 31 miles between them and second place, but I’m sure this will only spur them on. The Pacemakers have benefitted greatly from their transfer and with their new addition they have took a lead over Scrambled legs and are only 9 miles behind 5th place, the Stroll Patrol. Current League Standings (After 11 days of walking) 1. 775m Atletico Building Systems 2. 591m Completely Floored 3. 689m Not fast just Furious 4. 660m Walking 9-5 5. 566m The Stroll Patrol 6. 557m Pace Makers 7. 527m Scrambled Legs 8. 430m Aches & Panes 9. 415m Red Hot Chilli Steppers Top 3 Individual performers at present; 1. 190m Jack Syddall 2. 152m Jamie Woollands 3. 132m Matt Zacharenko We have now reached 86% of our current target of £7,500 on just giving, which is amazing, it is very time consuming and it is amazing to see everyone putting in the effort. Keep up the hard work and get those steps in where possible. https://lnkd.in/eZM4EWHm #Charity #PACT #HorburyGroup #Construction #TeamWork #1346miles

AN INTERESTING PHENOMENON TO RESEARCH ON - EXPLAIN IT! This indeed evokes my passion for #research! I am #curious to find out: "#Who, #how and #why did who #transfer/#transmit what to who"? This poses a big research challenge to be resolved, as one can be very convinced that such key observations cannot simply occur randomly in our world! An observation which might be difficult to explain, but let's, however, take on that challenge of explaining IT! #LionelMessi and #LamineYamal had more to exchange with one another when they first met! How did they do IT?

In 2007, 20-year-old Lionel Messi took photos for a Barcelona charity calendar with six-month-old Lamine Yamal. 16 years later, Yamal just became the youngest scorer in Men's Euros history.

Selecting a team for the Keals Cup is a balancing act. Yes, you need the finest athletes available, but just as important is a support crew filled with people willing to do anything to extract every drop of effort from the competitors. So, when DAEMCO Australia were assembling our team, we knew there was one ankle strapper/masseur we had to have. Enter the man, the myth, the legend – Mick ‘Puggsly’ Kennedy. Despite not personally having a skerrick of sporting ability (although he is a winner of a few competitions not suitable to be mentioned to our LinkedIn family), Puggsly knows a lot about looking after champion athletes having raised some impressive specimens of his own. According to Puggsly, “Mate, it’s all about proper hydration and knowin’ how to keep ‘em motivated and relaxed. I’ve been doin’ it for years”. Puggsly is somewhat of a trailblazer and innovator in the training circles having even tested and used jackhammers and cordless drills as relaxation tools in his early days. Gareth Dickson Geschke Plumbing and Drainage Contractors had this to say about the great man, “Mick will bring an enormous amount of effort and courage to the team. In fact, as many friends and colleagues can attest, Puggsly is about the ballsiest person I know.” Please get behind Peter and YTB and tip in whatever you can afford. Silverstone is not just a home race for Lewis Hamilton, it's also a place with special resonance in his mission to build a more diverse and inclusive Formula One. Four years ago, it was during a private test at Silverstone post-Covid, and pre-Austrian Grand Prix, that Lewis challenged us to do more and go further following the murder of George Floyd, by using our platform to advocate against racism and for greater inclusion. The result was the all-black livery of the W11, and catalysed the team's Accelerate 25 programme. Three years ago at Silverstone, the Hamilton Commission published its report on Formula One. Some took this as a hostile act, some resisted it as "Lewis's thing" rather than relevant for the sport, others were open-minded and embraced the mirror it held up to our community - and asked the question, how can we lean into changing that? At the same time, we announced the Ignite partnership between our team and Lewis's fantastic foundation, Mission 44. That work incubated some incredible initiatives that are guided today by Jason Arthur and his team at Mission 44, as they expand their scope and ambitions. That's why I believe this announcement by Formula 1 is so important - because it shows the sport as a whole, and not just individual drivers or teams within it, are prioritising a more representative and inclusive F1 as a source of strength and performance in the future. Lewis may be moving on from Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Formula One Team at the end of the season, but I hope that when we reflect on our legacy together, this work sits very high up the list of achievements we can be proud of - alongside all those wins and world championships. And special little shout-outs to some of the folk in the background who've kept the wheels turning on this, most notably Jo Livingston, Marc Hynes and Mark Hamlin.
