Why is this important in supply chain? The Eurozone Manufacturing PMI is a critical economic indicator that measures the health of the manufacturing sector. The latest PMI for June 2024 has dropped to 45.6, indicating a contraction in manufacturing activity. This decline highlights challenges such as decreases in new orders, export orders, and employment . Current relevance The outcome of the French elections might have impact on economic conditions in the whole Eurozone as French government debt is already high while parties on both the left and the right wing have made expensive promises to the public. The spread of French bonds versus German bonds has already increased and might rise even further.
