French President Emmanuel Macron's recent speech at the Sorbonne mentioned space, its applications, or our inferred dependency on it at least 20 times, even — rightfully — listing space as one of the top 5 most strategic emerging sectors for Europe.   Geopolitical, technological, scientific, economic, societal, and environmental transformations are taking place globally and they are deeply profound, rapidly accelerating, and sure to have an impact for generations to come. In the midst of this, space continues to assert great strategic and economic importance, demonstrating its unique potential to secure regional autonomy and foster international leadership.   I am currently working with our Member States on ESA's Strategy 2040, which will only further emphasise the importance of space for a unified and prosperous Europe, much of which resonates with what President Macron has stated in his mentions of space, competitiveness, European industry, and technology.   I commend President Macron for his bold, visionary speech at the Sorbonne and for once again raising space to the highest political level.

What impact does this have on their relationships with buyers, and what attitude should be adopted to consolidate these relationships in the future? IÉSEG Research prof. Bert Paesbrugghe delivered his vision at the last BtoB Summit. A few key takeaways: - Don't rush into new technologies. Take the time to understand the hype cycle and how a technology can actually help you build better customer relationships. - Focus on what you do best. While it is important to keep an eye on new technologies and macroeconomic changes, don't spread yourself too thin. Focus on what you know and what you can do well, and use technology to support your efforts. - Constantly improve customer satisfaction. Are you really listening to your customers? This is often more of a communication argument than a real practice. In his research on buyers, he notes that they expect constant improvements, while salespeople often settle for a one-shot deal. - Measure customer satisfaction regularly. Use a variety of indicators (more than 1) and target them by customer segment. - Be transparent about what you can and cannot do. Set realistic expectations and avoid disappointing customers.
