🇫🇷 #France lowers #forecasts of soft #wheat #harvest and #exports The state agency FranceAgriMer lowered the forecast of the gross harvest of soft wheat in the current season to 23.52 mln tons (July forecast - 27.25 mln tons, last season - 31.73 mln tons). The export forecast has been reduced to 10.11 (14.11 and 16.63) mln tons, including 6.0 (6.5 and 6.29) mln tons to the EU countries and 4.0 (7.5 and 10.23) mln tons to non-EU countries. Wheat imports will increase to 0.25 (0.2 and 0.12) mln tons. The carry-over stocks will fall to 2.74 mln tons, which is 13.5% less than last season. Read more 👉 http://surl.li/meoubu

CEEV - Comité Vins had the honour of hosting DG AGRI representatives Pierre Bascou, Deputy Director General, and Fabien Santini, Acting Head of Unit, at our internal LEX working group. They provided valuable insights into DG AGRI’s key priorities that directly impact our sector. #Bordeaux2021 in bottle – Some 600 reviews of the Bordeaux 2021 wines in bottle have just hit our database. Some of the 2021s in-bottle surpassed initial predictions, others were in anticipated score ranges, and a few didn’t live up to their promises. This report comes with a Swiftly written Modest Proposal, offering a solution to Bordeaux’s perceived pricing problem that has escalated since the 2021 vintage Primeurs campaign, causing much friction between the classified growths of Bordeaux and the negociants/merchants that buy and sell them. As readers will note, this introduction is just for fun, yet behind the satire is a serious message regarding the forthcoming pricing of the 2023s. Guillaume produces wine that reflects his philosophy for winemaking - Minimal interference with the “terroir effect” by following biodynamic agricultural principles, ensuring the wine is balanced, soft with elegant tannins and very little wood influence. He has always been fascinated by the notion of “terroir”, most notably about how the Southern Rhône varieties express themselves in diverse terroir. The Robin on the label can often be found in their organically farmed vineyards and embodies all that drives the creation of these wines - dreams, liberty, and terroir. Tasting notes for Bel Ami Chateauneuf-du-Pape Rouge 2021: "Beautiful ripe cherry, cassis, ground pepper, and leather notes all emerge from the 2021 Châteauneuf Du Pape Bel Ami, a classic blend of 60% Grenache, 15% Mourvedre, 15% Cinsault, and 10% Syrah that's brought up in a mix of foudre, demi-muid, and concrete tank. With medium-bodied richness, good mid-palate depth, and rock-solid structure, this terrific, balanced 2021 will benefit from just a few years of bottle age and keep for 15 years.
