À propos
The low-carbon journey to space. Zephalto redefines space travel standards through an environmental commitment and a once-in-a-lifetime experience. We offer low-carbon journeys to the stratosphere aboard Céleste, our pressurized capsule, allowing to reach 25 km above Earth in unparalleled comfort and safety. This 6-hour flight will raise awareness among 6 exclusive guests who will have the opportunity to observe the curvature of the Earth and experience the phenomenon of the “overview effect”. Our purpose: Touch people through an experience of beauty and a contemplation of infinity and nature. Zephalto also aims to provide unique access to research and industry by combining space exploration with scientific commitment. We benefit from the support and expertise of CNES as the main partner. #DareTheDream

Zephalto a republié ceci
Last month I traveled to Tucson, AZ to speak with World View CEO Ryan Hartman about his company's plan to take tourists on a joy ride to the stratosphere. I also spoke to Space Perspective's Jane Poynter and Zephalto's Vincent Farret d'Astiès, two startups working on similar technology. The experiences would not take passengers all the way into space, the start of which is generally accepted by the U.S. government to be around 80 km or around 50 miles above the earth’s surface, but the companies we spoke to said passengers would be able to experience the “overview effect,” a common, highly emotional phenomenon experienced by #astronauts when they see the earth against the blackness of space. The rides would also be much smoother, avoiding the bone rattling experiences of rocket-powered space tourism. A single trip with these companies would last about 6 hours and ticket prices range from $50,000/seat with World View to around $184,000/seat with Zephalto. Check out the full documentary here: https://lnkd.in/eXUhQr3H Special thanks to Catrina A. Melograna of The Aerospace Corporation for your expertise.
