World's leading Organization for Women in Tech. On a mission to empower 5 million women and girls in tech by 2030
À propos
Women in Tech® is more than simply a women’s networking group. We are an international non-profit organization dedicated to closing the gender gap in the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) sector. Our goal is to see girls and women succeed in these career fields, along with their male colleagues. Today, we are in the midst of the fourth Industrial Revolution. If it is going to succeed, the level of women’s participation must grow. Ultimately, we want our daughters and granddaughters to live in a world where access to knowledge, innovation and business opportunities are based on interest and ability, not gender. To achieve this goal, we must take action now. Our Vision A world where every girl and woman has equal access to opportunities in STEM. In a rapidly changing world, science, technology, engineering and mathematics have already had profound impact on our daily lives. We believe that girls and women have much to contribute in these areas. By supporting them in their choice to pursue STEM education and careers, we are standing on the cusp of a major global shift in how we teach, study, work, do business and more. Our Mission To close the gender gap in the STEM sector by helping girls and women embrace science, technology, engineering and mathematics. These subjects are not innately suited for one gender over another, and there is no rational reason why girls and women should not pursue career options in STEM if they choose.

Congratulations to the winner of the Most Disruptive powered by Amazon, Rena Maycock🏆 , your significant impact in the technology sector through radical innovation is truly inspiring. You have introduced revolutionary ideas, products, or services that challenge the status quo and drive positive change in the industry. We celebrate this incredible achievement. Rena Maycock is an experienced entrepreneur with over 20 years in business. She has served as Group CEO of a media organization and launched two award-winning radio stations that became regional leaders. In 2011, she founded Intro Matchmaking, Ireland's largest dating agency within two years, which now has thousands of clients and is franchising in Europe. In 2018, Rena established Cilter Technologies, now Chirp, an early-stage deep-tech startup. Chirp develops embedded child-protection software for smartphones that detects and blocks cyberbullying, grooming, and suicide/self-harm content in messaging apps, including encrypted messages. This innovative approach involves a filter at the kernel level of a device, providing a unique solution not achievable by traditional parental control apps. Rena has led Chirp with exceptional dedication, working unpaid for much of its development while managing other business commitments. She has built a world-class team and engaged a consortium of experts to advance Chirp’s technology. Her efforts secured endorsement from UNESCO and a government partnership for Chirp’s pilot program. Additionally, Chirp is in discussions with major smartphone manufacturers and telecommunications companies to embed its technology globally, potentially protecting up to 15 million children within five years. Rena's leadership extends to developing Chirp's prototype, which demonstrates the capability to filter encrypted WhatsApp messages. Chirp was awarded a €2.8M grant from the Disruptive Technology Innovation Fund for R&D, and in May 2023, it secured a record €1.67M in private investment for further development.
