Heads up 🚀 The EU’s AI Act is rolling out this August and it’s set to shake up AI regulation with a risk-based approach: 🤖 Minimal Risk: No rules for low-impact tools like spam filters. 🤖 Limited Risk: For example, chatbots must disclose they’re AI-powered. 🤖 High Risk: Strict rules for systems handling sensitive data or profiling individuals. 🤖 Unacceptable Risk: Bans on AI that manipulates behavior or uses social scoring. While the Act aims to boost trust and set clear standards, enhancing consumer protection and positioning the EU as a global AI leader, critics fear it might burden startups with high compliance costs and vague rules, potentially stifling innovation. #AIAct #EU #Poll #VivaTech

I don’t think I was born ready. I think there are a few factors - sometimes you have it inside of yourself like Serena had that heart. This potential deal would represent the company’s largest acquisition to date, highlighting its heightened focus on cybersecurity amid increasing threats to governments and businesses. 🎬 The Walt Disney Company is ramping up efforts to keep viewers engaged on its streaming platforms by introducing personalized content recommendations and pop-up live channels featuring popular series like "The Simpsons." These initiatives aim to emulate Netflix's data-driven approach to enhance user retention and increase advertising revenue. ⚕️Thrive Global and OpenAI's Startup Fund back Thrive AI Health, a new startup championed by Arianna Huffington and Sam Altman. The initiative aims to provide personalized advice on sleep, food, fitness, stress management, and social connection via an AI health coach. 🤖 DeepL, a translation software startup, has unveiled its most powerful large language model yet for business. This specialized large language model enhances translation capabilities between German, Japanese, Simplified Chinese, and English, promising more accurate translations with reduced errors, fine-tuned using extensive proprietary data and human expert input. 💰 FTX and the CFTC (Commodity Futures Trading Commission) have agreed to a $12.7B settlement, pending approval from a Delaware judge. After the exchange's collapse in 2022 due to fraud allegations, the CFTC will receive nothing if FTX complies with its reorganization plan, allowing up to $12.7B to be paid to creditors, based on available funds.
