We are pleased to share that our Youngstown, Ohio facility in the US has won the US EPA 2024 Regional Pollution Prevention Award for reducing pollution at the source, reflecting our commitment to environmental responsibility and community well-being.
We are pleased to announce that our Youngstown, #Ohio, production facility has been honored with the US Environmental Protection Agency (#EPA) 2024 Regional Pollution Prevention Award for efforts to reduce, eliminate, or prevent pollution at the source. We’ve been recognized in particular for optimizing water resources and reducing the use of carcinogenic, mutagenic, and reprotoxic (#CMR) #chemicals. Over the past two years, we have made significant strides in using safer and more environmentally friendly chemicals in the workplace through our ChemSafe program. In 2022, we achieved a 44.4% substitution rate for Category 1 CMRs. In 2023, we set a 70% substitution rate goal, ultimately surpassing it with a reduction of over 90%. Now, we’re working to reach 95% by the end of the year. We are proud to set the industry environmental standard because of the work of our #environmental team and our leaders' commitment to protecting the well-being of our employees and the communities in which we operate.
