Our primary objective is to advance the President’s priorities and his vision of promoting human rights, tolerance, and education worldwide. Our staff collaborates closely with fellow Permanent Delegations and the UNESCO Secretariat to drive key policy initiatives. These initiatives encompass crucial areas such as freedom of expression, education for girls and women, and leveraging science for development. In addition, we actively facilitate public-private partnerships and provide support to various entities, including U.S. Goodwill Ambassadors, UNESCO Chairs, Creative Cities, and World Heritage Sites. Congratulations to the U.S. Mission to UNESCO on your one year anniversary of rejoining UNESCO! At Seattle City of Literature we use our UNESCO Creative City Designation to connect our community to the world. We’ve been so honored to work with the U.S. Department of State and we’re thrilled to keep everything moving forward. Seattle’s storytelling community goes back thousands of years, with Indigenous tribes sharing their stories, history, and myths. And today, the Seattle region is an international hub of innovation, drawing some of the world’s best minds and creative talents. Being part of the shared mission to create a more sustainable world through creative endeavors is vitally important. And we want to thank the U.S. Mission to UNESCO for all of the hard work you’ve done to make sure our country is back at the table. Congratulations U.S. UNESCO!!!! #UNESCO #USA #UnitedStates #UCCN #CreativeCities #UNESCOCreativeCities

Today marks the first anniversary of the United States rejoining UNESCO! One year ago, UNESCO Director-General Audrey Azoulay & First Lady Dr. Jill Biden co-chaired the flag-raising ceremony. Over the past year, the U.S. has been an invaluable partner in achieving our mandate, particularly in promoting girls' education, advancing science and technology in Africa, and harnessing AI for Good. #UNESCO #USA #UnitedStates U.S. Mission to UNESCO

📌#USUNESCOLatestNews: Celebrating the one year anniversary of the United States rejoining UNESCO. 🎉 Our Mission is thrilled to celebrate the one-year anniversary of the U.S. re-joining the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO)! On July 25, 2023, First Lady, Dr. Jill Biden and UNESCO Director General Audrey Azoulay raised the flag of the United States at the UNESCO headquarters in Paris. What an action packed first year with the U.S. elected as a member of the Executive Board and as co-chair with Ghana of the Group of Friends of Priority Africa. Every day we are working with countries around the world prioritizing education, particularly STEM education for women and girls among other key efforts underway at UNESCO in the education, science, media freedom, and cultural sectors. With additional U.S. funds we have specific projects in Holocaust education, protecting Ukrainian cultural heritage, increasing U.S. expertise in ethics of artificial intelligence and neurotechnology, and so much more! To all of our partners at the UNESCO Secretariat, Permanent Member States, and around the world; in our 9 Creative Cities, 22 University Chairs, Goodwill Ambassadors, collaborators with 25 World Heritage Sites in the U.S., National Park Service, NOAA: National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration, and all those who believe that it’s so important to have the U.S. back in a leadership role in UNESCO: 🙏 Thank you! 🙏 Team USUNESCO is grateful to count on you as part of our community and looks forward to our continued partnership in the year ahead. 💡Please join us in celebrating this milestone by sharing a video message or tweet with us on social media by tagging @USUNESCO on X or on our LinkedIn page U.S. Mission to UNESCO. Quick stint to Paris this week to meet with the driving force behind global development, cultural, scientific, and educational exchanges—UNESCO. The U.S. Chamber warmly welcomed the U.S.'s rejoining of UNESCO last year. Had productive meetings with Ambassador Jean Manes, Benjamin Villame-Rabattu and Barbara Bolognani, PhD from the U.S. Mission to UNESCO, along with Karalyn Monteil and Dorine Dubois from the UNESCO Culture Sector. We discussed exciting initiatives in the culture sector and the creative economy's development. And, of course, great seeing former U.S. Chamber of Commerce super-intern, Chirag Bansal!
