CEO at Chipiron: Shaping the future of healthcare by building the next-gen MRI | Actively hiring in R&D, product, and go-to-market!

Website revamping with a new, dramatic identity 😈 -> chipiron [dot] co Clearer and more concise: straight to the point. Chipiron will profoundly transform Healthcare by bringing high-field-like image quality to places where MRI would be impossible, either because of its outrageous costs or the prohibitively complex infrastructure it requires. We are ALWAYS on the lookout for world-class talent. We currently have 10 open positions on -> jobs [dot] chipiron [dot] co I DON'T recommend you join EXCEPT IF you are crazy enough to want to build a world-class technical capability, working on a meaningful project and a challenging environment. Kudos to the Units design team for the stunning work! cc Tom Formont Roman Weil

As Hello Tomorrow draws closer, we are delighted that three of the startups we've worked with were chosen for the Global Challenge finals: - Robeauté, one of the first start-ups we've worked with - and one we always enjoy working with. They're developing a microrobot for new therapies in hard-to-reach areas of the body. - InSpek, an in-depth and particularly stimulating collaboration involving the design of their optical microchip sensors for improving bioprocesses through real-time monitoring. - Clarity - Digital brain clinic, an exciting project and team developing a non-invasive neuromodulation medical device to slow the progression of Alzheimer's disease. Good luck to them - and their challengers - as the competition will be stiff! [URR 1 - Technical Happiness] Electronic music uniquely combines technology and artistic creation. As a writer, sound artist and exhibition curator, Jean-Yves Leloup explores the cultural imaginaries of electronic music, particularly in terms of their social implications throughout history. [URR 1 - Technical Happiness] Nightclubs can be defined as places to party, to forget everyday life and share a collective moment through music, dance and a "let go" state of mind. They are also technical spaces equipped with motorized lights, smoke machines, lasers, speakers, LEDs, and screens to enhance the collective experience. This invisible system works to generate effects and fuel the collective trance. Design historian Catharine Rossi discusses the connections between nightclubs and technical aesthetics. When our work delves deeply into technology, sometimes surprisingly human faces appear. Jokes aside, at Units we consider exploring people's diverse feelings about technological issues to be an important part of our approach to design - to the point of giving it a nod in our corporate identity. It was with this in mind that we created URR in 2020, a journal investigating the connections between design, research, technology and art. It has now become a non-profit association and central resource within Units. It fosters the development of a long-term, broad and prospective practice that escapes the more conventional temporality of daily projects but permeates their creative development. To find out more about this approach, you can order URR here: https://lnkd.in/ePxYmDQB [Free delivery] 1. To create surprising yet realistic images, it's sometimes necessary to explore unexpected tools. Part of working as designers in the medtech industry is to try, review and analyse existing tools used by scientists. And as designers, there's always a certain pleasure in exploring them, sometimes twisting them to suit our ideas. So, when we started working with Robeauté, we set out exploring tractography software, a method used to highlight neural pathways. While we thought we'd use it merely as a step towards understanding the topic, we actually ended up doing much more than that: • for one thing, it has helped us experiment with the way we use this kind of software, especially 3D navigation. And let's face it, some of them have room for improvement - but that's not the point of this post. • then to gain an in-depth understanding of brain anatomy and ways of representing it, while keeping a sense of 'truth' in the images we create - a key point that we touched on in a previous post. • and even to use this material - though in a more stylised form - to create communication materials for Robeauté promoting the minimally invasive, high-precision approach of their micro-robot. All of these images were produced with DSI Studio (https://lnkd.in/eZ-G5EB7) using models created from MRI scans. #science #research #design #illustration

In August, InSpek brought us on board to work on the product design of their real-time biological and chemical monitoring sensor. We're happy to share this work, as it reflects their ongoing vision for their product! Inspek develops next-generation sensors that can analyze the composition of a medium using Raman spectroscopy - a technology based on light scattering to analyze molecular vibrations and provide information on a substance's chemical composition. Units takes part in the design of the sensor, ensuring it can be used in a variety of ways and meets requirements for constrained environments such as bioreactors. Studying the modularity of uses linked to existing processes in laboratories, we design a product and its architecture. We draw our inspiration from photographic sensor aesthetics - accurate and miniaturized - fitting it into a receptacle shape, to evoke data collection. Find out more here: https://lnkd.in/dFtvuj4Z Many thanks to Jérôme Michon for this great opportunity! #design #science #technology
