The Raw Materialist a republié ceci
📗 Whether you like its intense raw green scent, or not, who hasn't been intrigued by galbanum (Ferula galbaniflua)? Sacred for ancient Egyptians and Hebrews, the one-of-a-kind green, spicy, balsamic perfume of its gum has marked spirits for centuries. Unrivalled king of green notes and natural leader of the green olfactive family, galbanum production exploded in the 80s with up to 150 tons per year used by the perfume industry! Despite the little data found on this raw material's production and the challenges encountered by its very limited supply, I wrote a short article for OLFACTIVE STUDIO Parfums as The Raw Materialist on this enigmatic ingredient: GALBANUM, THE PRICELESS GUM OF PERSIA ➡ 🇺🇸 Link: https://lnkd.in/eefTsSVY 🇫🇷 Version FR : https://lnkd.in/ekFMCTEE "In Iran, the species flourishes on the inclines of the northern mountain ranges.[...] The harvested gum resin is sold in the markets of Irani villages by traders to bigger wholesalers. These export it to the West (Europe and US) where the processing transforming units are. Iran remains nowadays the world leader for galbanum gum production with about 15 metric tons – 15 thousand kilograms – produced per year."
