Membrane proteins (MPs) are critical to various cellular processes, yet their native complexity hinders functional studies. Enter cell-free systems, allowing MPs to be expressed, purified and reconstituted into liposomes, creating proteoliposomes for detailed analysis. 🔬 Why are Proteoliposomes a Game-Changer? - Innovative Drug Delivery: proteoliposomes show promise as drug delivery systems, efficiently carrying both hydrophilic and hydrophobic drugs, potentially transforming therapeutic approaches. - Advanced Structural Studies: proteoliposomes facilitate NMR-based structure determination of MPs in their proper folding, crucial for understanding protein functions and developing targeted treatments. With more than 13 years of experience in cell-free technology and membrane protein expression, Synthelis can produce functional and oriented membrane proteins in proteoliposome format using either its patented approach to directly incorporate the protein target into the lipid bilayer of the liposomes, or after protein solubilization and purification followed by a relipidation phase. A partir de leur technologie acellulaire d’expression (“cell-free system”), Synthelis est capable de formuler ces protéines sous forme de protéoliposomes, de nanodisques, solubilisées par des détergents ou sous leur forme soluble, selon la nature de vos protéines d’intérêt.
