Did you know businesses and professionals in Lyon can now benefit from cardboard collection service with a cargo bike?🚲 Over the past few months, the SUEZ and TOUTENVELO teams have collected more than 100 tonnes of cardboard from 36 professionals, mainly from hotels, cafés, restaurants, shops and small businesses ✅. The collected cardboard is taken to dedicated collection points before being transported to paper mills to be recycled into new cardboard boxes 📦 This initiative has already helped avoid the equivalent of 1 tonne of CO2 emissions 🌍, fitting perfectly with the metropolitan approach of Low Emission Zones (LEZ) and our commitment to sustainable development & the promotion of cycling 🤝 ✅ Ville de Lyon stands out as an environmentally friendly city, recently recognised by the European Commission among the 100 neutral cities planned by 2030. The city is also involved in the LEAD project, alongside five other major European cities - Madrid, The Hague, Budapest, Oslo, and Porto - aiming to develop urban logistics networks. ♻️ Since 2016, companies generating more than 1,100 litres of waste per site per week are required to sort five waste streams. The AGEC Law (Anti-Waste for a Circular Economy Law), which came into effect on 16th July 2021, encourages waste reduction and sorting at the source. Congratulations to Toutenvélo, Lyon’s merchants, and our team for this fantastic initiative 👏 #SUEZCyclingStories #Lyon

Preserving nature wherever we operate is a key pillar of our sustainable development roadmap. In the UK, for example, our teams have carried out over 300 actions to improve biodiversity at our waste management sites in 2023 alone, such as planting trees and hedgerows 🌳 or installing nesting boxes for birds, bats or owls 🐦🦇🦉. Stay tuned for more #SUEZSustainableStories 🌿

In Poland, SUEZ consolidates its position as a major player in the European market for renewable energy from waste. SUEZ becomes a shareholder in ARA Cursus alongside Eiffel Investment Group and Bourgogne, acquiring a majority stake in the company, which develops and operates anaerobic digestion plants for biogas. ARA has developed a portfolio of 9 agricultural biogas projects in the country, one of which is already operational. Each project has a renewable energy capacity of 1 MW. With the combined production of renewable energy and biofertiliser, ARA's biogas plants will contribute to Poland's low-carbon energy transition and circular economy.

What would life be like without water? And what would become of it with so much waste? These questions are our obsession, they’re our passion. They are at the heart of what we do and how we manage our teams 💧♻. To meet these challenges and ensure the success of our Strategy, we have adopted a #LeadershipModel: a set of shared values and behaviours for all managers and employees of the company to help us achieve collective success.

New SUEZ Research & Development centre in China! On 9 July, SUEZ inaugurated a new R&D centre in Beijing with guests from the Beijing Zhongguancun Science and Technology Park Management Committee and the French Embassy in China. Honoured as “Beijing Foreign-funded Research and Development Centre” and “Postdoctoral Research Workstation”, the Beijing R&D Centre has three advanced laboratories, each equipped with state-of-the-art process verification and analysis platforms. These facilities enable us to verify and optimise drinking water treatment technologies, explore cost-effective wastewater treatment technologies, and evaluate sludge properties and treatability. We are committed to sharing our technological innovations with our local partners. Together, we tailor solutions to meet the unique needs of individual markets and support China's environmental transition. Francois Fevrier Jun Zhang Bruno Barillon Delphine Steinmann

We contribute to the sustainable development of communities wherever we operate. This means, for example, promoting access to essential services. In Manila metropolitan area, Philippines, we are supporting rapid population growth by providing access to potable water with 4 lines of Decentralised Compact Units, also known as UCDs®. These compact, modular solutions can be deployed much faster than a traditional drinking water production plant to meet urgent needs💧. The goal? To produce up to 80,000 m3 of water per day, for 900,000 people Stay tuned for more #SUEZSustainableStories! 🌿
