A message from our CEO This past week has been extremely saddening, as we witness the devastation caused by the recent floods in Spain. It has been heartbreaking to see the impact on many lives and communities, especially those of our colleagues and their families. Ensuring the safety and well-being of our people is our highest priority. I would also like to extend thanks to our team in Spain who have been providing relief to affected communities, including coordinating deliveries of crucial supplies and materials. Our Talent Acquisition & DEI Manager, Aditi Bhat, sat down with SolarPower Europe to chat about what winning the Diversity Champion Award means to us and the initiatives that have contributed to our success. 🌟 Exciting News from Our Accelerators Talent Development Programme! We’re thrilled to announce the launch of our third cohort of our Talent Development Programme with Unplugged Week. Over 28 Sonnedix employees from across the globe unplugged from their desks and daily routines to immerse themselves in five days of adventure and learning in nature. The team engaged in hands-on activities like raft building, hiking, abseiling, and rock climbing, all while tackling team challenges that fostered collaboration and camaraderie. Today we officially inaugurated our 21MW WD Cluster in Poland ☀️ Members of Sonnedix’s One Team, alongside local and regional leaders, gathered in Wdziękoń Drugi in the Podlasie region, to celebrate a big achievement for our Polish team. Set to produce around 24,500 MWh of renewable energy by harnessing the power of the sun, the WD Cluster will: ⚡ Power almost 13,000 homes in Poland and avoid nearly 8,000 tonnes of CO2e annually 🌱 Support biodiversity by creating habitats for native animals and improving the soil health for plants 💵 Contribute to economic development in the local community through revenue generated during the installation Poland represents one of our newest markets and today’s inauguration demonstrates the pace at which our #OneTeam is executing our strategy to provide clean energy to support Poland’s energy transition. At Sonnedix, we are proud to have participated in ACERA's 21st Annual Meeting on Renewable Energies and Storage in Metropolitan Santiago. 🌎 This event focused on the importance of renewable energy and the ongoing energy transition in Chile. The President of both ACERA and Sonnedix Chile, Sergio del Campo Fayet, discussed the critical issues facing our industry, including investment gaps in energy transmission and the risks posed to renewable energy generators. 🌱 As part of our commitment to a greener future, we partnered with Oh! Seeds to gift attendees an OhPil! – a seed symbolising our belief that every action counts. Together, we can cultivate a more sustainable and inclusive future through meaningful initiatives. Our Head of Operations for Iberia, Carolina Nester was recently featured in Revista Energética, where she discussed the impact of gender diversity in the renewables industry. 👉 “Diversity brings a more creative stance, improving skills such as empathy and emotional intelligence, resilience, and active listening”, Caroline said in her interview. In an industry still predominantly male, promoting gender equality is key to unlocking innovation and driving better business performance. By increasing the representation of women in leadership roles and encouraging young women to pursue STEM careers, Sonnedix is committed to building a more diverse and empowered energy sector. ☀️ Visiting one of our largest solar plants in the UK ☀️ Over 100 members of the Sonnedix #OneTeam travelled out to Lincolnshire to witness up close one of our largest projects currently under construction in the UK – the 60MW Gonerby project. Spanning 70 hectares of land, Gonerby will produce nearly 60,000 MWh of clean electricity per year, enough to power 16,000 households and avoid 22,000 tonnes of CO2e emissions. It’s part of a portfolio comprising five projects spread across England, totalling close to 300 MW. There was a lot of excitement about our plans for the UK, as both Carlos Guinand and Axel Thiemann spoke about the opportunities and congratulated the team.
