Sensorion today announces that the independent Data Safety Monitoring Board (or #DSMB) has undertaken a review of the safety data for the patients participating in the #NOTOXIS Phase 2a Proof-of-Concept (POC) clinical study of SENS-401 for the prevention of #Cisplatin-Induced Ototoxicity (CIO). The DSMB has recommended the continuation of the study and confirmed the absence of any concern as to the safety of SENS-401 when administered in adult patients receiving a daily dose of 43.5 mg, administered twice daily, over a period of up to 23 weeks. Data previously published in December 2023, indicated a favorable safety profile when administered continuously for up to 11 weeks in patients receiving SENS-401. 🔵⚪🔴 Sensorion annonce aujourd'hui que le Comité indépendant de Surveillance des Données de Sécurité (ou DSMB) a réalisé une revue des données de sécurité pour les patients participant à l'étude clinique de Preuve-de-Concept (POC) de Phase 2a NOTOXIS du SENS-401 pour la prévention de l'ototoxicité induite par le cisplatine (CIO). Sensorion is delighted to announce the publication of new positive #data from its SENS-401 Phase 2a clinical trial in the preservation of residual hearing in adult patients following cochlear implantation. The results show that the administration of SENS-401 reduced hearing loss following cochlear implantation. Six weeks post cochlear implantation (corresponding to end of SENS-401 treatment), the data indicate that the mean hearing loss induced by the surgery at 500 Hz is 19 dB for #patients treated with SENS-401 (N=16) compared to 32 dB for control group of SENS-401 untreated patients (N=8). Similar clinically meaningful difference is observed for the mean of the three following frequences (250, 500 and 750 Hz) with 16 dB in the SENS-401 treated group compared to 31 dB in the control group. Each May, National Speech-Language-Hearing Month provides an opportunity to raise awareness about communication disorders and the role of The American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) Speech-Language-Hearing Association members in providing life-altering treatment. 🌍 According to the World Health Organization, over 1.5 billion people globally live with some degree of hearing loss. Of these, approximately 430 million require rehabilitation services for moderate or higher levels of hearing loss. 65% of people aged 18 years and older with hearing, speech, and/or language difficulties say that they encounter stigmas. ➡ Sensorion suggests the following tips to prevent hearing loss: - Protect your ears with protective hearing gear in noisy environments (music concerts, noisy workplaces, airports or train and bus stations, lawn mowing or leaf blowins, auto racing) - Monitor the volume of your devices - Try to limit your headphone and earbud usage to one hour at a time and take 5 minutes of break in between - Get your hearing tested #nationalspeechlanguagehearingmonth #hearinghealth #biotech #NSLHM Nawal Ouzren

May 1-7, 2024, is #Deaf Awareness Week! On this occasion we are reminded of the importance of advancing research and innovation in the field of hearing health. At Sensorion, we're dedicated to developing cutting-edge therapies aimed at restoring, treating, and preventing hearing disorders. There are many ways to support people who are deaf or have hearing loss. One of the best things one can do is to make sure they are never excluded. Deaf people are often excluded from groups and activities because people assume that they will not understand or be able to follow conversation. Here are a few tips to make things easier for people with hearing loss: -Do not cover your mouth when speaking -Face someone directly without moving your head too much -Do not tell them that you will "explain it later" or that "it doesn't matter" if they miss a part of the conversation - repeat it for them if you can -Try not to speak to them when they are facing away from you or watching something else -In a group, try not to speak all at once as this can be confusing 🔵⚪🔴 Nous célébrons la Semaine de Sensibilisation à la Surdité du 1er au 7 mai 2024!
