RES and SCR Sell 17 MW Battery Project in Alingsås to Rocmore Energy!   We are thrilled to announce that together with Scandinavian Capacity Reserve (SCR), we have successfully completed the sale of a 17 MW energy storage project in Alingsås, Sweden.   This is the second battery project for RES and SCR, following the successful battery storage project in Landskrona.   The new owner, Rocmore Energy, will construct the plant, which is expected to support the local grid and Alingsås Energy by summer 2025.   "Sweden has a large and growing need for smart energy storage solutions. This collaboration between Alingsås Energi, RES, and SCR exemplifies how we can secure a more resilient energy supply for both residents and businesses. We look forward to Rocmore Energy taking over the project." Matilda Afzelius, RES CEO - Nordics.   Read more. Link in the comments.   #EnergyStorage #PowerForGood

🤝 A new partnership to drive wind turbine efficiency through digitalisation   We are thrilled to announce a partnership with the U.S. Department of Energy’s National Renewable Energy Laboratory to license and deploy the new ‘Dynamic Yaw’ technology. Innovating the component of turbines responsible for orientation toward the wind, the technology takes a systems approach to consider how each individual wind turbine on a wind farm can share data and work together as a team to increase the overall performance and efficiency of the group of turbines.   RES VP Services Digital Solutions, Alex Bamberger, sees that the partnership is “a good example of the way RES is able to combine its deep renewables expertise and understanding of how assets work, with the technology of leading research institutions. Merging these two capabilities is enabling RES to use modern digital infrastructure to manage data and turn insight into action.”   Read the full release on our website. “Norway and the UK share a long history of energy cooperation, and the North Sea is a key shared market for both countries. We need to increase standardisation of licensing processes, support schemes, and regulations, as well as ensure skills and knowledge are shared between both countries." This was the message from RES’ Managing Director in Norway, Eli Wærum Rognerud, who was invited by Norwegian State Secretary Astrid Bergmål and Kerry McCarthy, Minister for Climate at the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero, and along with other industry leaders to share their perspectives on #renewablenergy at #ONS in Stavanger last week. As Norway’s electricity demand is set to rise, we are committed to investing in the region to help achieve our vision of a future where everyone has access to #zerocarbon energy.

At #MexicoWindPower, we've been on the ground, sharing insights and learning from experts about the evolution of wind energy in the country. Our Country Manager in Mexico, Juan de Dios Platero Gómez, contributed valuable perspectives during a panel discussion focused on the current and upcoming challenges in operations and maintenance (O&M) for wind projects in Mexico. The panel, composed of industry experts, delved into the mechanisms and technical elements crucial for optimising wind farms across the country. From life extension and decommissioning of wind farms to addressing social acceptance and safety barriers, it is evident that the industry demands highly skilled technical experts to maintain consistent service quality. Thanks to the Global Wind Energy Council (GWEC), Asociación Mexicana de Energía Eólica and Informa Markets for a great event.

We are delighted to share some fantastic news to round off the week! Last night, we were honoured to take home two awards at the Scottish Green Energy Supply Chain Awards! 🏆 Diversity and Culture 🏆 Collaboration in Action (on behalf of the Offshore Wind O&M Partnership) These awards underscore our commitment to creating an inclusive environment where everyone feels empowered to pray, parent, partner, and participate without fear or unease. Since launching our Affinity Networks in 2021 and introducing our employee engagement survey tool, we’ve been driven to inspire change that not only advances our environmental mission but also upholds our social responsibilities to our people. A special mention to the Offshore Wind O&M Partnership - launched at the end of 2023, this collaboration among five leading O&M service companies in the UK&I (RES, GEV Wind Power, Outreach Offshore Ltd, Rix Renewables, and Rovco) offers a seamless, efficient solution for offshore O&M services. Together, we’re simplifying operations for asset owners and driving greater efficiency across the board. A huge thank you to Scottish Renewables for hosting such a brilliant event, and congratulations to all the finalists! #SGESCA24 #PowerForGood #Renewables #Skills #Careers

While many parts of the world are enjoying a summer break, our French offshore team is hard at work, ensuring the smooth operation of our customers' assets. With the stunning seascape as their backdrop, beautifully captured by Mathieu Mouraud, Maintenance Team Leader at RES, they are focused on performing essential maintenance and upgrades that are crucial for uninterrupted energy production. This time of year is particularly busy for offshore work, as we maximise favourable weather conditions to minimise stand-by days and keep our customers' assets running at peak performance. Their commitment ensures that the wind farm continues to generate clean energy, powering communities and supporting a sustainable future. #PowerForGood
