A Day in the Life of Joanna Nehring, Apprentice in the substation field in Germany!   Join Joanna on a typical day as a trainee in Substation. She is working assembling components for the construction of a new #substation at over 20 meters high. Always daring to try something new – that's what makes Joanna's work so special. ⚡   Joanna can fully utilize her manual skills and thrive in an area where her abilities shine the most. Besides her technical strengths, she also feels well-supported on a personal level at her workplace. Especially in safety-critical tasks, trust is crucial. Joanna can always rely on her team and her trainer, which strengthens their #collaboration. 🤝 By having the opportunity to actively participate in projects for the energy transition, Joanna can pursue her passion for her work and make an active contribution to shaping the future.🌍 During a four-week internship in 2021, Joanna got to know the Omexom branch in Dortmund. #OmexomInstitute | On Monday, July 1, 2024, our Omexom teams in Germany inaugurated a new Omexom Institute with an integrated energyLab in Uedem, North Rhine-Westphalia. The event brought together regional authorities, local partners, and representatives from Rhine-Waal University, highlighting our collaborative approach to sustainable energy solutions. 🤝 The new facility aims at developing smart energy and decarbonization solutions, while showcasing Omexom expertise in system integration of renewables, storage solutions including hydrogen, as well as electric mobility. As an example, we proudly showcased a hydrogen-based backup power generator developed with Rhein-Waal students, an initiative that received this year’s University Award from Wirtschaftsförderung Kreis Kleve GmbH. The facility will also serve as a training hub, fostering #knowledgesharing within our teams and with external partners, providing with training modules on hydrogen, decarbonization and smart energy among others. A Day in the Life of Joonas Kähkönen, Distribution Fitter in Finland! Join Joonas on a typical day as a fitter. He is working building, maintaining, and troubleshooting the #distribution network in the Savon Voima area. Key aspects of his job also include various preventive measures to ensure customers stay connected to power.⚡ Summer is a hectic season for construction, and the goal is to complete as much as possible while the ground is unfrozen. In winter, the focus shifts more to #maintenance and preventive actions. The work often involves older structures, some poles being up to 50 years old, requiring careful observation and consideration. The unpredictability of the job is what keeps it refreshing for Joonas. Joonas likes to unwind from work in quiet settings, such as mountain biking in nature. The best spots on his bike rides are discovered when he wanders aimlessly, enjoying the beautiful scenery. #Transmission | Omexom Brasil in partnership with ENGIE Brasil, has completed the no-load energization of the 230kV Transmission Line, which connects the Gentio do Ouro II Substation (SE) to the Serra do Assuruá Substation (SE), located in Gentio do Ouro, Bahia, in north-east brazil. This project, aimed at transmitting power generated in the northeast region and expanding regional interconnections, will reach a total installed capacity of 846MW.⚡ This crucial procedure was successfully carried out, where the transmission line is energized without load, meaning it is not connected to end consumers. This allows for the verification of the system's integrity and functionality before its full operation.🔧👷 Significantly contributing to the expansion of the country's #renewableenergy matrix and the improvement of the electricity transmission #infrastructure, our colleagues in Brazil delivers yet another contract with excellence and quality.
