For years, OBO has been a steadfast supporter of ALIMA - The Alliance for International Medical Action. ALIMA, an NGO dedicated to mitigating climate change consequences in Africa, focuses on bolstering health capacity, pioneering malnutrition management, and cultivating resilient environmental solutions. Today, we extend an invitation to unite in support of ALIMA's crucial mission. Despite contributing only 10% of global CO2 emissions, Africa disproportionately bears the impacts of climate change. ALIMA acknowledges this reality, which led to the development of an environmental roadmap in 2022, considering the profound effects on the already fragile healthcare systems of their countries of intervention. ALIMA takes tangible steps to address these challenges. Pioneering climate-resilient hospitals, ALIMA is innovating to strengthen healthcare infrastructure during climate crises. In Chad, ALIMA's pilot program has outlined 20 priority solutions for future implementation. Additionally, ALIMA is revolutionizing malnutrition treatment in response to climate change. The development of OptiMA simplifies the treatment of malnutrition and has shown remarkable effectiveness in combating it amidst worsening climate conditions. Support ALIMA and participate in vital projects: • Construction of a sustainable hospital, procurement of medicines, and provision of training: €85,000. • Temperature reduction in hospital wards: €20,000. • A €10,000 donation allows ALIMA to acquire 180 cartons of plumpy nut sachets, enabling treatment for 540 severely acutely malnourished children using the OptIMA protocol.
