The recent AT&T data breach is a major concern for everyone, not just AT&T customers. Hackers have stolen records of 110 million AT&T customers, including call logs, text messages, and location data. Scammers could use the stolen data to impersonate loved ones or steal banking information. The stolen location data is particularly frightening for individuals whose safety relies on the privacy of their whereabouts. We must advocate for stronger data privacy protections. Unlike Europe, the United States lacks a comprehensive federal data privacy law, leaving individuals at risk and without rights if their data is compromised. It's time for change.
