It's time – Ledger Stax, our latest device featuring the world’s first secure touchscreen, starts shipping today! Why did it take so long for us to ship Ledger Stax? In the podumentary linked in the first comment below, we pull back the curtains and explore the story of this first of its kind product. The journey to Ledger Stax – a revolutionary device featuring the world's first secure touchscreen – required innovation, collaboration and perseverance. Join us and discover the challenges and breakthroughs that went into bringing Ledger Stax to life, and how Pascal Gauthier, Tony Fadell, ian rogers, and Charles Guillemet worked across teams to make it a reality. ian rogers talks to Johnson Lee from Eink, Chuck Milligan FlexEnable, and Engine from DKE about the details. Delve into the full story in the podumentary here: https://lnkd.in/e_crmycg –––– Ledger Stax was designed by Tony Fadell, Godfather of the iPod, to create this first of its kind device. After taking a look at the crypto space, and the types of devices that were currently available, Tony came to the conclusion that what the space really needed was a device that was "a delight to use" – while still maintaining Ledger’s top-notch security. "Most devices in the past have lacked security, or they've lacked utility – or they haven't had enough visual space for you to see what it is you're signing," says Ledger CXO ian rogers. Ledger Stax was born out of a desire to address all three of these needs – a device that's secure, easy to use, and allows you to clearly read what you're signing. Ledger Stax’s screen is the world’s first secure touchscreen – but what exactly does that mean? When you’re signing transactions, it’s vital that you’re able to trust the information being shown on the screen you’re signing on. Signing transactions using your phone or computer (like when using a software wallet), means you can’t be 100% certain that what you’re seeing is what you’re signing, as phones and computers are vulnerable to hacks. All of Ledger’s devices feature a secure screen – meaning a screen that’s driven by the Secure Element, keeping it safe from hacks. That means that not only is Ledger Stax’s screen our largest screen to date and our first touchscreen, but it’s completely secure and trustworthy. The size of Ledger Stax’s secure touchscreen – 3.9 inches – also makes it much easier to read through your transactions and ensure that you fully understand what you’re signing - no need to scroll through 5 different screens to read through a transaction! On top of that, your Ledger Stax can be personalized! By giving your Ledger Stax a name, and choosing an NFT or photo as your lockscreen, your device becomes immediately recognizable as yours - even when powered off. If you have multiple Ledger Stax, the magnets in the device also allow them to be easily stacked together! Watch the full video, linked in the first comment.

If you'll be at EthCC in Brussels next week, make sure to join us to learn all about Clear Signing and the steps Ledger is taking to make it a reality! - Sign up for our side event at Club Reset on Tuesday at 5pm CEST: https://lnkd.in/dJVWtNev - And don't miss our CTO Charles Guillemet's keynote on Monday at 3:55pm CET! Scroll down to learn more about blind signing and why we're working so hard to make clear-signing the standard. As the crypto space has grown and become more and more complex, wallets have struggled to provide users with a way to properly verify what they’re signing. This means that hundreds of thousands of people are "blind signing" - signing transactions that aren't human-readable but instead appear as a long string of numbers and letters. Malicious actors have taken advantage of blind signing, tricking users who can't clearly & easily read what they're signing, and siphoning away billions of dollars. The solution to the blind-signing issue is clear-signing. Clear signing allows users to view their transactions in easy-to-understand, human-readable language, preventing users from accidentally signing a scam transaction. Establishing clear signing standards will require a collaborative effort across the space. We advocate for open, clear signing standards, and have already started collaborating with key stakeholders within the ecosystem to make these standards a reality.

Ledger Stax features a first-of-its-kind secure touchscreen, which offered our hardware team (led by Cyril Labidi) a new challenge - how to ensure that Ledger Stax's battery life was up to par with our other devices. Join Cyril Labidi and his team at a working session where they discussed Ledger Stax's battery life - with Ledger's CXO ian rogers weighing in on our vision. Ledger Stax's battery lasts up to 10 hours with the screen on, and several months with the screen off.

Our next-gen device, Ledger Stax, was designed by Tony Fadell, the mastermind behind the iPod. His goal was to make a device that was fun and approachable - while still maintaining Ledger's top-notch security. "Most devices in the past have lacked security, or they've lacked utility - or they haven't had enough visual space for you to see what it is you're signing," says Ledger's CXO ian rogers. Ledger Stax was born out of a desire to address all three of these needs - a device that's secure, easy to use, and allows you to clearly read what you're signing. Hear more from Tony Fadell himself on how he came up with the idea for Ledger Stax!

Last post of my series of blog posts on how we're working at Ledger, this one focusing on Tech Practices. The principle behind all these tech practices is actually very simple: the more shots you get at something, the higher the probability you'll succeed. Therefore, what's the minimum thing I need to build to validate my hypothesis as fast as possible? 👉 Build it, test it, learn. Repeat. Releasing small and often is the north star which then drives a myriad of practices such as reducing the cost of pushing out changes and automating repetitive work that takes a long time (e.g. regression testing and software deployments). Rings a bell? Normal, it's #ContinuousDelivery at the service of #Lean product development and here's how we're doing it at Ledger 👇

Continuing on my series of blog posts on how we're working at Ledger with post number 2: Team Practices! It is often thought that Agile is easy to adopt in a small start-up environment, but that it is difficult to scale. This is because many of the benefits of #Agile are achieved through a lightweight process that is possible within smaller networks of people working together. It is true that as a company scales, maintaining all the benefits of Agile is a challenge that requires careful thinking. Ledger is no exception here: we have had to learn, evolve, and adapt as we have grown to remain Agile, while at the same time preventing chaos and loss of rigor. Here's how we're doing it: https://lnkd.in/ecWyx7PQ
