Last week to visit “Le Soleil des Morts” at the Atelier 11 de la Cité Falguière ! The “Le Soleil des Morts” exhibition is a time-space capsule where objects from different eras converge. In this historic studio of the Ecole de Paris, home to artists such as Modigliani, Soutine and Foujita, the exhibition becomes a theater of facetious encounters between archives and works of modern & contemporary art. This encounter between the living and the dead, between myths and their modern reinterpretations, invites us to reflect on how contemporary art dialogues with the shadows of the past while forging new narratives. She is Professor and Director of Art, Media and Technology at Parsons Paris, The New School of Art & Design. Originally created in the 19th century to provide affordable studio space, Cité Falguière has been home to hundreds of artists over the years. Notable residents include Gauguin, Modigliani, Foujita and Soutine, who immortalized its iconic red facade in a 1916 painting.  Today, the International and creative spirit of Cité Falguière lives on in Atelier Number 11. This legendary space now welcomes artists for short-term residencies. It is managed by two non-profit organizations, one dedicated to preserving the community's history, and L’AiR Arts, which oversees its contemporary art programming. 🖌 FOCUS sur la restauration de l'Atelier 11 de la Cité Falguière : Un Appel à la Préservation de Notre Patrimoine Artistique 🎨     Aujourd’hui, nous choisissons de mettre en lumière la restauration de l'Atelier 11 de la Cité Falguière à Paris, l'une des plus anciennes résidences d'artistes au monde. Ce lieu emblématique, qui a vu passer des artistes incontournables tels que Amedeo Modigliani, Paul Gauguin, Chaïm Soutine et Tsuguharu Foujita, nécessite une rénovation complète pour préserver son héritage unique.     🏛️ Le Projet en Détail : Façades et Structure : La façade sera restaurée en conservant autant d’éléments d’origine que possible, tout en traitant l’ossature principale en bois et les verrières d'époque.  Intérieurs : La disposition actuelle sur trois niveaux sera conservée, les poutres structurelles seront restaurées, et l'isolation, l'électricité, la plomberie, et le chauffage seront mis aux normes.  Valorisation : L'intérieur sera adapté pour continuer d’accueillir artistes et public, tout en ravivant l'énergie créative de l'École de Paris.     🏆 Pourquoi c'est Important :  - Préservation et Patrimoine Vivant : L'Atelier 11 est le dernier témoignage de la riche histoire artistique de la Cité Falguière.  - Reconnaissance : Labellisé Patrimoine d'intérêt régional par la Région Île-de-France, ce projet est essentiel pour la préservation de notre patrimoine culturel et artistique.     🤝 Projet lauréat pour l’édition 2022 de la Mission Patrimoine, portée par Stéphane Bern et déployée par la Fondation du patrimoine avec le soutien de la FDJ - La Française des Jeux et du Ministère de la Culture, l’Atelier 11 a bénéficié d’une dotation de 105 000 € grâce au Loto du patrimoine.     👉 Faites un Don sur le site de la Fondation du Patrimoine et devenez acteur de la préservation de notre héritage artistique !
