Linealuce 37 fixtures provide a grazing light that highlights the bell tower’s brickwork, while Lander luminaires ensure functional yet stylish lighting for the car park. Inside, Laser Blade XS, Palco spots, and Light Up Earth create diverse atmospheres, seamlessly integrating with the ceiling design and functional needs of the spaces. ✨The Krause Gateway Center // Des Moines, Iowa, U.S.A. Architectural project: RPBW Renzo Piano Building Workshop in collaboration with OPN Architects . Lighting project: Arup . The Krause Gateway Center symbolizes the Western Gateway of Des Moines downtown area's urban renaissance. Designed by the Renzo Piano Building Workshop, the building fosters a continuous dialogue between its interior spaces, the public, and the city. The integration of the Pappajohn Sculpture Park—viewed as an extension of the project—along with the thoughtful study of the site's elevation and the shared civic commitment of Kyle Krause and the Renzo Piano Building Workshop, inspired the concept of transparency and openness. Inside, Le Perroquet subtly define the large passage areas, while in the hallways, minimal and adjustable Laser Blade systems enhance the natural light streaming through the expansive windows. 🌟The Jingshan Temple, Hangzhou, China Architectural project: Zhejiang Institute of Traditional Architectural Design & Research (Responsible for most of the temple buildings); Jiangsu Bosen Architectural Design Co., Ltd; Zhejiang Wenbo Ancient Architecture Design Co., Ltd Lighting project: China United Engineering Co. LTD. Jingshan Temple, with over 1,200 years of history, enters a new chapter through an ambitious restoration and lighting project, perfectly aligned with Zen culture and oriental aesthetics. iGuzzini fixtures, including Palco floodlights and Laser Blade L recessed luminaires, illuminate the interiors, highlighting wooden statues and artistic details. This lighting not only emphasizes the space’s three-dimensionality but also enhances the spiritual atmosphere of the temple. The use of Spot, Medium, and Flood optics, paired with color temperatures of 2700K and 3000K, ensures optimal material rendering. 💡 The lighting project is divided into three key layouts: 1- Buddha Light: Three lighting scenarios for prayer, ceremonies, and puja. 2- Zen Lighting: Two settings designed for meditation, sutra copying, and tea ceremonies. 3- Communication and Life: Diffuse lighting for peripheral buildings dedicated to hospitality. The result? Lighting that evokes warmth, calm, and introspection, seamlessly integrated with the temple’s ancient architecture. 📸Flatmind
