Today, CrowdStrike's Falcon platform update, the companie’s flagship endpoint product known as EDR led to a massive disruption of Microsoft services worldwide, affecting millions. 🎯 How can companies better prepare for such unintended consequences? 𝐍𝐞𝐭𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤 𝐃𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐞 (NDR) can play a pivotal role here. Whether on its own or complementing EDR technology, NDR offers comprehensive visibility across all network traffic, even encrypted. While EDR agents focus on specific endpoints, they face deployment challenges, especially with BYOD, Shadow IT, outdated systems, IoT, and dynamic industrial environments, where there's only partial knowledge of the hardware and software inventory. 👉 Although EDR can usually stop an attack, it relies on the terminal it is installed on and an agent to analyze it.
