Since January, we have been testing MAINDATA, Co. Ltd.’s SFN Boost platform, ensuring that it meets the rigorous standards of the DVB-SIS (Single Illumination Satellite) and functions harmoniously with other vendor equipment. We are now pleased to confirm and validate the interoperability of the SFN Boost ✔️ The tests have verified the adapter’s proficiency in receiving a primary DTH parent stream from Eutelsat’s head-end, including DVB-SIS signalling from a Control Stream Generator (CSG) by a different brand. In addition, the adapter has proven its capability to generate a T2-MI signal, essential for DVB-T2 transmitters. The product’s reliability was confirmed over several months of rigorous testing, with various T2-MI analyzers and DVB-T2 modulators across SFN and MFN modes. The SFN Boost Rx adapter consistently met all performance benchmarks underscoring its stability and robustness. Commenting on the announcement, Ralph Edeine, TV Reception and Video Standardization Manager at Eutelsat Group said: “Eutelsat regards the successful interoperability among different vendors as a landmark achievement, prior to deployment of a new digital TV industry standard. DVB-SIS equips Eutelsat with a huge advantage for the distribution of signals to terrestrial TV networks, offering a superior alternative to traditional methods such as fibre optics or microwave networks. Additionally, it serves as a reliable and efficient backup, or redundancy solution, for DTT broadcasters.” You can find out more information about this story via the link in the comments, below ⬇️

Eutelsat Group: supporting Télécoms Sans Frontières (TSF)'s rapid response to Hurricane Beryl ⛑ Thanks to its regional alliances, TSF has been able to respond quickly to Hurricane Beryl, coordinating with the Caribbean Disaster Emergency Management Agency (CDEMA) before and after the storm hit. When the TSF team arrived in Barbados, they coordinated with CDEMA and other stakeholders on the ground. Following a needs assessment, the TSF team deployed to the island of Carriacou, a hard-to-reach part of Grenada that had been heavily affected. In coordination with the National Disaster Management Organization (NDMO), they met with affected people, assessed telecommunications needs, and are currently conducting operations on the ground. A second team is providing telecommunications assistance in Jamaica for the United Nations Disaster Assessment and Coordination (UNDAC) unit. As a proud patron and supporter of TSF, our partnership is crucial in enabling the emergency response to Hurricane Beryl. 500 people in the Caribbean were reconnected and were able to talk to their loved ones, seek help, and stay informed. In Jamaica, humanitarian organizations also benefited from the connection, supporting their food distribution and assistance operations. A huge thank you to the teams involved in this considerable operation. Our thoughts are with all of those affected by the hurricane.

We had the privilege and honor of welcoming the Brigade de sapeurs-pompiers de Paris (BSPP) to our Family Day at Eutelsat Group last week 🚒 As part of our ongoing commitment to societal engagement through our CSR activities, we have equipped a Communication Support Vehicle (CSV) with cutting-edge connectivity infrastructure, leveraging our next-generation satellite networks. In emergencies, when public networks are congested or unavailable, communication becomes critical. The satellite-connected CSV ensures reliable, resilient communication between front-line responders and command units, facilitating seamless radio, voice, and internet communications. This state-of-the-art vehicle, now utilizing the Ka-band on our EUTELSAT KONNECT satellite, supports high-capacity applications, multiple simultaneous calls, file transfers, streaming, teleconferencing, and provides connectivity to a private 4G tactical bubble. This initiative is part of our technology partnerships aimed at protecting civilian populations. We are proud to play a pivotal role in enhancing emergency response communications, ensuring that vital connections remain intact even in the most challenging situations. A huge thank you to the BSPP for their dedication and for bringing the vehicle along to our event, and of course to our Eutelsat team for making this possible.
