Last week, our jury members attended the deliberation meeting of the Women in #Rail Award 2024! 🏆  This year, the jury went through 70 submissions, including 60 eligible applications: 🙋🏼♀️ 18 for the Women Empowerment Award  🙋🏻♀️ 21 for the Leadership & Mentoring Award 🙋🏽♀️ 21 for the R&I in Rail Award The three winners will be invited to InnoTrans in #Berlin during which a dedicated #Award Ceremony will be organised on 24 September. The Women in Rail Award, co-organised by the Agency, Europe's Rail Joint Undertaking, ALE - European Train Drivers' Union, CER (Community of European Railway and Infrastructure Companies), the European Commission’s Women in Transport Platform, UNIFE | The European Rail Supply Industry Association, EIM European Rail Infrastructure Managers, and #EU_Rail brings the spotlight on winning combinations, inspiring role models, and outstanding research and #innovation achievements for women and by #women that are bringing the #railway industry forward. On July 10th and 11th, the Agency delivered a high-level Safety Leadership #training at the OSE (the Greek Infrastructure Manager) Headquarters in #Athens.   This training emphasised the importance of #leadership in safety, the development and promotion of a positive safety culture, and the need to prioritize #safety in every decision and daily action.   It is the first of series of activities under the “Technical Support to #Railway Safety and Interoperability in Greece”. This project, funded by the European Union through the Technical Support Instrument in #cooperation with the European Commission (DG REFORM), is dedicated to supporting Greek national authorities and stakeholders in enhancing the safety and interoperability of the railway network in #Greece. 🚉   #EU #EUfunded #RailNetwork #committedtosafety

#ETCR2024 Brussels Day 🚄 Participants of the ETCR Seminar on EU Transport & Railway Affairs had yesterday the unique opportunity to visit the European Parliament, learn and discuss about the future of #rail transport with MEP Tilly Metz and the European Commission DG Move, and how to get things done in the #EU Bubble with Mahmoud Tharwat Abdelrahman. During the academic afternoon session, Prof. Felix Schmid, Prof, FRANCESCA PAGLIARA and Mario Tartaglia presented and engaged with the participants on the railway system and high-speed rail topics.
