🌏 The #oceans are one of the largest natural #carbon sink on earth storing about 38,000 gigatons of carbon, whereas the atmospheric storage only accounts for 860 gigatons. The large #CO2 sink capacity of oceans has increased interest in technologies that can enhance carbon storage in the ocean by extracting CO2 from ocean water. 🌍 #Oceans could become part of solving the critical raw mineral challenge generated by the massive requirements of our clean energy technologies such as photovoltaics, wind turbines and batteries. ➡ Seawater offers a quasi-infinite source of minerals & metals with a constant but very diluted concentration.
