Of all the challenges on the road to software-defined mobility, safety is priority #1 and was the central theme this week at #TheAutonomous main event in Vienna. We were proud to contribute to the discussion, with Elektrobit CCO Christoph Herzig joining an expert panel tackling 𝐵𝑢𝑖𝑙𝑑𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑆𝑎𝑓𝑒 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝐹𝑎𝑖𝑙-𝑂𝑝𝑒𝑟𝑎𝑡𝑖𝑜𝑛𝑎𝑙 𝐴𝑟𝑐ℎ𝑖𝑡𝑒𝑐𝑡𝑢𝑟𝑒𝑠 𝑓𝑜𝑟 𝐴𝑢𝑡𝑜𝑛𝑜𝑚𝑜𝑢𝑠 𝑉𝑒ℎ𝑖𝑐𝑙𝑒𝑠 and experts Jens Petersohn and Wolfgang Thieme hosting a workshop titled 𝐸𝑛𝑎𝑏𝑙𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑆𝐷𝑉: 𝑂𝑝𝑒𝑛 𝑆𝑜𝑢𝑟𝑐𝑒 𝑓𝑟𝑜𝑚 𝐶𝑙𝑜𝑢𝑑 𝑡𝑜 𝐶𝑜𝑐𝑘𝑝𝑖𝑡. Christoph touched on the advances being made with innovations such as 𝑬𝑩 𝒕𝒓𝒆𝒔𝒐𝒔 𝑨𝒖𝒕𝒐𝑪𝒐𝒓𝒆, our Real-Time OS, which includes an extension to support 𝑭𝒂𝒊𝒍-𝑶𝒑𝒆𝒓𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒂𝒍 𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒎𝒖𝒏𝒊𝒄𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏. Meanwhile Jens and Wolfgang exchanged on how open-source software is accelerating the journey to #SDV, demonstrating EB corbos Linux for Safety Applications, the world's only open-source operating system (OS) solution assessed compliant with automotive functional safety standards, and guided their group through Elektrobit's #SDVlevels classification, another industry first. Thanks to all the team at #TheAutonomous for an outstanding event! 📸 Philipp Lipiarski, The Autonomous Main event #AutonomousVehicles #FailOperational #OpenSource #SDV #LinuxForSafetyApplications

Tomorrow on September 26, at the COVESA All Member Meeting, our own, Dr. Bernd Hardung, will present, "Unleashing the Software Defined Vehicle with VSS and Virtualization," from 12:15-12:35. His talk will cover how Vehicle Signal Specification (VSS) and virtual cloud environments can decouple function development from cockpit integration, allowing the creation of truly OEM-agnostic functions. Gain a deeper understanding of how we are accelerating the journey to fully software-defined vehicles through ecosystem-driven innovation.

We are thrilled to announce that Aqib J. will be speaking at Safetronic 2024 on November 13-14, in Stuttgart as one of our speakers!   Our talk, "A Linux-based OS Solution for Safety-Related Applications up to ASIL-B/SIL-2," will showcase how Linux for Safety Applications addresses the critical needs of today’s Software Defined Vehicles (SDVs). As SDVs increasingly require separation of lifecycles between hardware, OS, middleware, and application software, high-performance computers (HPCs) demand a reliable, customizable, and safety-compliant OS solution.   In this session, We will explain the implementation of a strategy leading to a Linux operating system solution that is compliant with functional safety standards(ISO 26262, IEC EN61508). And how Elektrobit's solution bridges the gap between the advantages of open-source software and the functional safety demands of the automotive industry, providing a qualified, reliable, and extensively maintained solution.   Special thanks to Fraunhofer IKS for hosting this event. Join us at Safetronic to discover how Linux for Safety Applications is shaping the future of SDVs.   #Safetronic24
