Her professional journey began in a university association, leading her to co-found THEKER Robotics and become its COO. With expertise in taxation and agile methodologies like Kanban and Scrum, Carla has effectively managed and administered numerous projects. 💡 THEKER's solutions emerged from identifying market needs and leveraging diverse expertise. Carla's team focuses on efficiency and sustainability in manufacturing, introducing innovative approaches to streamline processes, minimise waste, and enhance product quality. These solutions are vital for economic growth and environmental sustainability. 👩🏭 Carla encourages women to pursue careers in manufacturing, highlighting the field's abundant opportunities for significant impact. She advises embracing challenges as pathways to growth and emphasizes the value of unique perspectives and skills in driving the industry forward. Meet Ozge Akbulut, the second-place winner at the 2023 RIS LEADERS competition, who is pioneering energy-efficient, no-material leak methods for near-net-shaping ceramics, aiming to revolutionise the industry with sustainable, recyclable technologies. 🔍 Dive into her story and learn how she is driving a circular transformation in ceramics. 👩🔬 Özge is a faculty member at Sabanci University's Materials Science and Nano Engineering Program in Istanbul. In 2014, she founded Surgitate, a company that designs and fabricates tissue and organ models for surgical training, setting the global standard for oncoplasty training. 🔧 Why Manufacturing? Özge believes that manufacturing shapes materials into essential products for society. As an engineer, understanding this transformation is fundamental. It addresses diverse scientific and technological challenges across various disciplines, providing a broader perspective on problem-solving. 👩🏭 As advice to other women, Özge emphasises the importance of agile and sustainable manufacturing practices, especially in the post-COVID era.
