The Danone Communities team had the honor of welcoming members of its community of committed ambassadors, in the presence of Antoine de Saint-Affrique Danone Communities relies on this community to promote its mission among Danone employees in France, enabling everyone to contribute to the fund and rally around Danone’s dual economic and social project. Over the years, this community has grown and attracted new engaged members, ready to give their time and passionate about our mission to support innovative business models that have a lasting impact on the health of vulnerable populations. A big part of this community, which now comprises more than 50 members with diverse profiles, united by their desire to take action without hierarchical ties, traveled from 13 factories and headquarters across France to Paris for the occasion. The focus of this June 4th event was: - Raising awareness on the social enterprises supported by Danone Communities and their impact on the health of millions of people. This included testimonials from 1001fontaines Vietnam (providing access to safe drinking water) and Lucky Iron Life (fighting against iron deficiency anemia), as well as insights from experts within the Danone Communities team. - Sharing tools to learn how to mobilize colleagues, facilitated by the association makesense, an expert in community building and collective intelligence. - Creating connections among these committed members who uphold Danone’s values. The day sparked new ideas for mobilization, encouraging each individual to take action at their own level and implement concrete initiatives. We kicked off the event with Antoine de Saint-Affrique, Danone’s CEO, who took the time to thank the ambassadors from all over France for their dedication. And the result of it all? Inspired, motivated, and energized ambassadors ready to make a difference and have an even greater impact on the health of as many people as possible! #socialimpact #internalengagement #businessforgood

After presenting it at the World Water Forum in Bali last week, we’re thrilled to launch an in-depth analysis of Safe Drinking Water Enterprises (SDWEs). Our focus? Economic Sustainability within this vital sector. Find it here : https://lnkd.in/e33csfyM At Danone Communities, we’re committed to making safe drinking water accessible to as many people as possible to improve global health, as part of Danone’s mission. After 15 years of investment in the sector and collaboration with numerous Safe Drinking Water enterprises, we’ve learned valuable lessons. Now, we’re sharing our insights openly to catalyze positive change and bridge the funding gap. SDWEs go beyond the large-scale centralized public pipe model. From water kiosks to mini-grid systems, our study covers a wide range of innovative solutions. Affordability for consumers remains a key constraint, and we’re committed to finding practical solutions. Let’s share knowledge, learn together, and make safe drinking water accessible for all! #wateraccess #safewaterenterprise #impactonhealth

It’s been a year since the Water Access Acceleration Fund (W2AF) was launched – a great opportunity to take stock of its achievements and highlight the partnerships driving its success!   Launched in 2023, the W2AF is the very first impact equity fund dedicated to investing in safe drinking water businesses. The W2AF, managed by Incofin, has seen substantial growth, raising an impressive €52 million, thanks to the recent investment by the European Investment Bank (EIB). Our diverse group of investors, including development financial institutions such as Norfund, the Danish IFU, USAID, along with Aqua for All, BNP Paribas have been instrumental in our success. Our strategic initial investment in Rite Water Solutions in India has already touched the lives of 2.3 million people, setting the pace for an even greater impact in the years to come! This week, as our investors convene, we are committed to establishing priorities that will continue to drive our mission forward. Together, we are dedicated to fostering a collective mindset that will ripple out into the world, ensuring that safe drinking water is a reality for all. Join us in celebrating this milestone and in looking forward to many more years of making a difference!

Health is in the spotlight for World Health Day! Danone has been committed to health through food for over a century – from the first pots of yogurt sold in pharmacies in Spain to today’s wide-range of healthy, nutritious (and delicious!) products for consumers of all ages and walks of life.   As a food company, we believe that we have a key role to play in supporting and promoting healthy nutrition and hydration. This commitment starts with our high-quality products.   In line with our Danone Impact Journey and sustainability ambitions, including those related to health, we leverage our in-depth scientific expertise to constantly improve our recipes. Today we celebrate #WorldWaterDay, the theme of which this year is “Water for Peace.” Water is more than an essential commodity for life – it’s a critical factor for health, social cohesion, and food security – and, in turn, peace and stability. In short, water access, food security, and peace are all intricately linked! Through our portfolio of safe water enterprises and the Water Access Acceleration Fund launched in 2023, we contribute to unlocking access to water for over 12.7 million people. We do this by supporting innovative businesses locally that foster broad and sustainable social change in the long-term. Let’s act collectively to build a future where water is a bridge to peace #wateraccess #Waterforpeace #health

🚰 How Danone Communities is empowering women through safe water access Water is essential for life, but for many people around the world, it is also a source of hardship and inequality. According to the World Health Organization, about 1.8 billion people lack access to safe water at home, and in 70% of these households, women and girls bear the responsibility of fetching water from distant sources. This means they have to spend time every day walking, carrying heavy loads, and facing various risks along the way. As a result, they have less time and opportunities for education, work, and leisure, which limits their potential and well-being. At Danone Communities, we intend to have a sustainable impact on their lives. That’s why we invest in innovative solutions that bring safe drinking water to people’s homes, such as Aqua Clara Solutions in Kenya, Nazava in Indonesia, and 1001fontaines in Cambodia. By doing so, they not only improve the health of millions of people, but also free women from the burden of water collection, and enable them to pursue their dreams and aspirations. We are proud to support these amazing initiatives. Join us in celebrating the International Women’s Day by sharing this post and spreading the word about the importance of safe water access for women’s empowerment!
