Figurative British Sculptor crafting timeless sculptures for public and private commissions.
Looking back at the creation of the D Day memorial with photos of the models standing beside the sculpture, I am reminded of how young these soldiers were who fought on the 6th June 1944. The models, who were of similar ages to the soldiers and who wear the same uniform and hold the same guns, makes the feet and impact of D Day that much greater. It was an emotional journey creating this sculpture and picturing these young courageous men fighting for our freedom.

Five years ago the stunning 'D-Day Sculpture' was installed at the British Normandy Memorial - it was the first part of this major project. The work by David Williams-Ellis Sculpture sits at the centre of the Memorial overlooking Gold Beach in Ver-sur-Mer. On Friday, seven Normandy Veterans joined HRH The Duke of Gloucester, Chair of British Normandy Memorial Lord Richard Dannatt, Viscount Henry Montgomery and Chair of The Spirit of Normandy Trust Richard Palusinski. The official 'Bon Voyage' dinner was held at the prestigious The Cavalry and Guards Club on Piccadilly ahead of our Veterans leaving for D-Day 80 commemorations in Normandy this June.
