BNP Paribas , en tant qu'actionnaire historique du projet EPI Company (European Payment Initiatives) est fier d'annoncer le lancement en France de Wero, un portefeuille de #paiement numérique européen, qui sera disponible dès la fin du mois d’Octobre pour tous nos clients. 💡 La promesse du service Wero est simple : offrir un portefeuille de #paiement mobile unique et sécurisé, vous permettant de réaliser des virements instantanés gratuits, à l’aide d’un simple numéro de téléphone ou e-mail, sans saisir d’IBAN. ◼️ Déjà lancée en Allemagne et désormais en France (relève de Paylib), les utilisateurs des deux côtés de la frontière pourront désormais effectuer des paiements domestiques et transfrontaliers entre les banques participantes ayant déjà déployé la solution auprès de leurs clients. Nous nous réjouissons que la Belgique, le Luxembourg et les Pays-Bas nous rejoignent très bientôt et aurons à cœur d’accueillir demain les autres pays désireux de participer à cette initiative, qui contribue à construire une plateforme européenne des paiements dans un environnement mondial très concurrentiel. ◼️ Au-delà du cas d’usage de paiement de personne-à-personne (P2P), Wero a pour ambition d’intégrer de nouvelles fonctionnalités à compter de 2025, avec son déploiement auprès des commerçants. Cela inclura le paiement chez les petits commerçants, et à terme, le paiement en ligne sur les sites marchands ainsi que la gestion des paiements récurrents liés aux abonnements. 🤝 Cette initiative ambitieuse, est le fruit d’un partenariat solide et de longue date entre 16 banques et prestataires de services de paiement européens et s’inscrit parfaitement dans la stratégie paiements du Groupe BNP Paribas, qui s'est toujours engagé à offrir à tous ses clients en #Europe des solutions de paiement plus sûres, innovantes et adaptées à leurs besoins.

COP29 is not the only international event to act for #climate! The New York Climate Week is also a major momentum to activate global cooperations. 🗽 Collaboration is indeed a key driver of BNP Paribas’ actions to implement the ecological transition and that is why we attend this kind of global events. 🍃 This week, Séverine Mateo, Global Head of our Low Carbon Transition Group, was at the Rockefeller Center for a leadership event to announce our commitment to intensify our efforts in financing civil #nuclear, alongside 13 other financial institutions. This follows the endorsement of the Declaration to Triple Nuclear Energy by 16 countries, including France, at the COP28 in December 2023. ⚛️ Joining forces was also the keywords of BNP Paribas and Solar Impulse Foundation partnership renewal. Anne Pointet, our Head of Company Engagement, and Bertrand Piccard, Chairman of Solar Impulse Foundation, reasserted our common objective to support efficient and profitable solutions to accelerate the #transition. 🚀 These two commitments illustrate BNP Paribas’ determination to #finance and scale-up the ecological transition.

In addressing the social inclusion issue, cooperation between the private sector, the public sector and NGOs is one of the key solutions to be efficient! 🤝 That’s what is recommended by a taskforce from Cercle de Giverny and co-chaired by antoine sire, former BNP Paribas’ Head of Company Engagement and now senior advisor on social inclusion and impact economy. Far from being just a public actors issue, social inclusion musts be taken into account by everyone, especially by corporates.
