Reflecting on the Research & Innovation Poster Awards - Seanergy 2024 During Seanergy 2024, we celebrated the remarkable achievements of researchers in the fields related to offshore renewable energy during the Research Poster Awards! This year was especially significant as, for the first time, four women won the 4 awards, showcasing gender parity progress in the industry. A dedicated area at the heart of the exhibition was reserved for showcasing the 42 selected posters, providing all participants the opportunity to discover and enjoy the latest research advancements. Posters competed for the Research & Innovation Awards, including four prizes: Best Poster, Jury's Favorites, and Participants' Choice (via an online vote during Seanergy). All posters were meticulously reviewed by our esteemed jury: Benoit Augier, Stephane Bertholin, Emer Dennehy PhD, Dominique FOLLUT, Herveline Gaborieau, and Boris Teillant. The four winners received their trophies from Francois De Rugy, Co-Chairman of the Energy Transition Group at Alantra and former French Minister for the Ecological Transition. BEST POSTER: “Residual strength of synthetic mooring lines for weather buoys” by Iroise Petton, GEPS Techno and Peter Davies, Ifremer SPECIAL PRIZES FROM THE JURY: “A comparative study between a pulsed and a continuous wave lidar mounted on a buoy against a trusted reference” by Salma YAHIAOUI, AKROCEAN “Tidal turbine wake characterization with vessel-mounted ADCP campaign” by Marion Huchet, DYNAMOCEAN PARTICIPANT’S AWARD: “The carbon footprint of maritime operations in offshore wind - An innovative model to evaluate offshore vessels CO2 emissions” by Eloïse Ducreux, Spinergie Thanks, and congratulations to all the winners and participants for their contributions to the field. AUSTRALIAN MEMORIES 🌬 🌊 🐨 Back in 2019, Our 2 first floating Lidar buoys were starting the first offshore wind measurment campaign in the south hemisphere. That was for the pioneering ⭐ Star of the South 🌏 offshore wind project. Almost 5 years later, Six super awaited feasibility licenses have been granted for proposed offshore wind farm projects in the #Gippsland region of #Victoria and six licenses are expected to follow soon! What a great achievement for the Aussies. Offshore wind becomes real there. Congratulations to all offshore wind professionals who believed in and who will contribute to Australian energy transition.
