📣 The Airseas team is delighted to announce the takeover of its activities by the "K" LINE group, a long-standing partner in the development of the Seawing system. The goal is to strengthen the development and commercialization of “Seawing”, our automated kite system using wind power. “K” LINE's long-term environmental guideline, “"K" LINE Environmental Vision 2050 ~ Blue Seas for the Future ~” outlines the 2030 target of improving CO2 emission efficiency by 50% compared to 2008, exceeding the 40% target set by the International Maritime Organization (IMO), and net-zero GHG emissions by 2050. Airseas est une entreprise industrielle fondée en 2016 qui conçoit, produit et installe une technologie de propulsion par le vent permettant de contribuer à la décarbonation du secteur maritime. Après sept années de développement, voir le cerf-volant d’Airseas voler en "huit" au-dessus de l'océan Atlantique, en totale autonomie, pour livrer les premières tonnes de traction, est une grande satisfaction, et une démonstration de la manière dont l’expertise de cette entreprise en aérospatiale a permis de relever d'importants défis technologiques. Pour nous CFCIM, le Maroc, en particulier Dakhla, était la destination idéale pour ce projet. We made it! We are incredibly proud to announce that we validated Seawing’s automated dynamic flight, on the highway to start decarbonising shipping using the power of the wind. Based on these latest trials, we are now able to project initial results of 16% fuel and emissions reductions, in line with our broader development roadmap. The performance that will be optimized with upcoming onshore trials, coupled with new sea trials on a capesize vessel owned by our client "K" line (Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha, Ltd). After seven years of development, seeing our kite flying in “figures of 8” over the Atlantic Ocean, in complete autonomy, to deliver first tonnes of traction, is a huge satisfaction, and a demonstration of how our aerospace expertise allowed us to pass major technological challenges. “This latest milestone is yet another demonstration of our steady progress in bringing to life an entirely new technology that will play a vital role in shipping’s decarbonisation. The maritime industry will need every available solution on the road to net-zero, and our aim is to enable a greater number of shipowners to take control of their emissions by harnessing the free and widely available energy of the wind. For Nolwenn, and for all fighters🎀 For years, Breast Cancer Awareness Month (“Pink October” in France) has been a major event that led millions of people to be screened, and to learn more about this type of cancer, which number keeps on rising. Airseas chose to join its voice to other companies this year, to raise awareness among the employees, and to make a commitment through concrete actions. A fund-raising campaign for scientific research has been proposed to our employees, with a company matching donation, and we shared practical resources to encourage our employees to go for screening or simply learn how to perform a self-palpation. Through our commitment, we also felt the need to pay a tribute to our colleague Nolwenn de Carlan, a 37 years-old engineer from our Fly team, who passed away last June after a one-year fight. Nolwenn was talented, brave, and above all she shared with her co-workers a lifelong passion for sailing. She's missed and we will never forget her determination.

Exciting news! We are delighted to announce our new project: our own shore-based testing base in Dakhla, Morocco🌬️.   This new installation will complement our sea trials and will enable us to accelerate our testing program in order to finalise the development of the Seawing system in the best possible conditions.   This installation will enable the operational teams to carry out a series of tests on a regular basis, in order to validate the final phases of development of the Seawing sail system, including fine-tuning the flight dynamics.
