AEIDL’s multilingual, multicultural team, at its head office based in Brussels, includes 25 permanent employees with a broad diversity of nationalities and backgrounds, who together cover the entire range of skills required to accomplish the association’s objectives. They are supported by an extensive pool of experts.

🌟 ARMLAG: Empowering Rural Communities in Armenia 🌟 On July 3, 2024, a historic moment unfolded in Gyumri, Armenia, as eight Local Action Groups (LAGs) from Shirak, Lori, and Tavush regions came together to officially establish the Armenian national network: ARMLAG. ARMLAG’s mission is clear: to foster cooperation among LAGs, emphasizing the power of unity. As Mr. Harutyun Gevorgyan, UNDP Project Manager, eloquently put it during the signing ceremony, “To succeed, you need to cooperate.” The proverbial wisdom of Armenian villages standing together to break down the strongest obstacles resonates with ARMLAG’s vision of empowering rural communities and amplifying their voices. 🙌 But ARMLAG’s impact extends beyond symbolism. By creating a nationwide network, LAGs gain a common platform to strategize, build partnerships, and explore funding opportunities. Aaron Imperiale, AEIDL Project Manager, shared practical insights on networking, emphasizing the importance of getting known and building partnerships within these networks. 🤝 Ms. marta marczis UNDP LEAD International Expert, and Mr. Imperiale, facilitated a parallel UNDP workshop with the remaining four LAGs. Their objective was to guide these LAGs in devising sustainable financing project schemes, referred to as “macro-projects,” tailored to their respective regions. As part of AEIDL’s involvement, the LAGs will receive support in communication, visibility, networking, and partnership building from the Brussels-based association specializing in local development. 🌐 Want to know more? #EURegionsWeek Cohesion Policy seminar: AEIDL joining forces with RSA CPnet and JRC! On 9 October 2024, the Regional Studies Association Research Network on Cohesion Policy (#CPNet) and the EU Joint Research Centre REMO team are co-organising, as part of the EU Regions Week, a session on the future of #CohesionPolicy. The workshop, entitled “How to reconcile Growth and Convergence. Exploring the neglected dilemma of Cohesion Policy” will seek to address these key strategic questions: - Can cohesion policy promote overall growth while also delivering regional convergence? - Can the policy objectives co-exist under the policy remit without tensions? - Where should the balance lie between the two? AEIDL will be facilitating this discussion among scholars and experts about equity-efficiency trade-offs faced by cohesion policy and avenues to address them. The topic will be addressed from both a theoretical and empirical perspective, by presenting work from academia, RSA #CPnet and the JRC REMO team. 📅 Wed 09/10/2024, 09:30 - 10:30 CET 🔑 Code: 09WS241668 📍 Albert Borschette Congress Center, Room AB-3A, Brussels Limited places. Register here by 31 August: https://lnkd.in/e7rsDUyk
