Feeling like a kid in a toy store as we explore endless possibilities of GenAI! A heartfelt thank you to the American Embassy in Paris for hosting a remarkable discussion on the future of AI. Special thanks to the organizers and speakers for their insightful contributions: Scott Pozil, Minister Counselor for Commercial Affairs; Julien Groues, VP, Head of France & Europe South at AWS; and Jaap Zuiderveld, VP EMEA Worldwide Field Operations at NVIDIA. Laura Modiano This panel was a natural continuation of the event at the Palais Elysée we attended under the patronage of Emmanuel Macron, with our friend Yann LeCun. The engaging discussion was moderated by Sasha Rubel, Head of AI/GenAI Policy EMEA at AWS, alongside industry experts: Jean-Charles Vasnier, Senior SA Manager at NVIDIA; Kate Jensen, Head of Sales at Anthropic; and Massimo Re Ferrè, Director of Product Management at AWS. Our discussion highlighted: 1. Switching between AI models is complex due to each model's unique biases and prompting methods (like switching between the brains of different experts, each requiring unique skills and approaches). 2. Using GenAI models without proper understanding is like driving without a license (Proper knowledge and training are crucial for effective usage). 3. GenAI should enhance professional skills and decision-making processes, not replace or second guess them. 4. It is necessary to evaluate AI applications for both internal and external use by building an internal/external & cost/revenue matrix. Trust and regulation play pivotal roles in ensuring successful AI implementation, highlighting the importance of a well-rounded AI strategy. 6. And finally, the timing for implementation is crucial, like sowing and harvesting at the right season.
