The Century Burn
A downloadable simulator for Windows
MEAT SCI-FI WORK SIMULATOR
A space megafauna corpse has fallen to the surface of an ecumenopolis. To burn the body will take over a century. This is not a job that will finish in your lifetime.
WORK
Work in the innards of the carcass burning away the meat with a flamethrower.
- There are passageways to be found by burning away meat, crouching, or jumping. Have a bit of an explore.
- Releasing your fire at the right time will grant you a quick-reload: watch the tab on the ignition cap, and how hot the heatshield gets.
- This game does not have jumpscares: just the unending horror of going to work.
TALK TO YOUR WORKMATES
Return to your dorm at the end of each day. Make small talk. Wipe your damn shoes. Complain about music. Learn about the maggot people.
- There are 8 days of conversations. If you want to experience all the dialogue, you should talk to each of the characters in the dorm every day.
This game was made for the for the 2024 7DFPS Jam over two weeks (...14DFPS?)
This is more of a first draft than anything. I always thought of this as a game you play while listening to music (for atmo I recommend Samoe Bolshoe Prostoe Chislo, WaluśKraksaKryzys, and Zach Hill). If you've got song recc's, let me know.

This is a great game and a great concept, great atmospheric world and interesting characters, you should really fix the bugs with the mouse stopping working and add an ending? unless there is one and I did something wrong? after day 8 it all just stays the same
Hey thanks for playing! Currently in the process of fixing the mouse bug, so that should be fixed within a couple of days :)
As for endings, the game is designed to go on 'forever', but within the confines of the jam there's only eight days of story. If I ever end up adding to the game, there'd be longer-term storylines, but not for this version.
To confirm the dialog problem: When you talk to an NPC the sound effects are way too quiet. Opening the settings to fix it causes the mouse to toggle off, and you are stuck in a dialog box you can't interact with, unless you go back to the settings and while they are open, you can go over to the dialogue box with your cursor to get out of it, causing you then, however, to be stuck again.
The game looks perfect, and I really would love to explore, but the time limit makes it really unattractive to do so.
Keep the good work up!
Nice the game is very good but the think when I talk to the people in the game and look around so mouse doesn't work like it freeze after talk to the people but I still like the game anyway well done keep it up!
