Twink

John Charles ”Twink” Alder (s. 29. marraskuuta 1944 Colchester, Essex, Englanti) on englantilainen muusikko ja näyttelijä. Hän oli keskeisiä hahmoja Englannin psykedeelisessä liikkeessä ja underground-musiikissa 1960- ja 1970-luvuilla. Lempinimi ”Twink” tulee tiettävästi samannimisestä shampoosta.

Twink aloitti musiikkiuransa paikallisessa The Fairies -yhtyeessä. Vuonna 1965 hän muutti Lontooseen ja liittyi rumpaliksi Tomorrow-nimiseen yhtyeeseen, jossa kitaristina toimi myöhemmin Yes-yhtyeessä soittanut Steve Howe. Psykedeelistä rockia soittanut Tomorrow oli suosittu yhtye underground-piireissä. Vuonna 1968 Twinkistä tuli The Pretty Things -yhtyeen rumpali ja hän soittaa levyllä S.F. Sorrow, jota pidetään ensimmäisenä ns. ”rock-oopperana”.

Seuraavana vuonna hän levytti ensimmäisen sooloalbuminsa Think Pink. Levyn tuottajana oli Mick Farren. Albumilla soittivat The Deviants -yhtyeen jäsenet ja lisäksi muun muassa Steve Peregrin Took Tyrannosaurus Rex -yhtyeestä. Twinkin ja Deviants-miesten (Duncan Sanderson, Paul Rudolph ja Russell Hunter) yhteistyö jatkui myöhemmin Pink Fairies -yhtyeessä. Twink oli mukana yhtyeessä vuoden 1971 loppuun, jolloin hän erosi henkilökohtaisista syistä johtuen. Sittemmin hän on ollut mukana yhtyeen uudelleenkokoontumisissa.

Myöhempinä vuosina Twink on tehnyt yhteistyötä muun muassa Syd Barrettin ja Hawkwind-yhtyeen jäsenten kanssa. Hänellä on ollut myös oma levy-yhtiö, Twink Records. Twink on toiminut myös näyttelijänä englantilaisissa televisiosarjoissa 1980-luvulla.
