“As a native in the most Northwestern part of Finland Kimmo has a lovely Finnish dialect. When he speaks Finnish as a person from Muonio municipality it feels like golden butter to my ears! The feeling of authenticity is incredible and I am sure Kimmo could sell anything to most Finns using his dialect as a trump card. What a wonderful potential waiting to be unleashed! Som infödd i nordvästra Finland har Kimmo en ljuvlig finsk dialekt. När han talar finska med sin dialekt från Muonio känns det som gyllene smör i mina öron! Känslan av äkthet är otrolig och jag är säker på att Kimmo kunde sälja vad som helst till de flesta finländare genom att använda sin dialekt som trumf. Vilken underbar förmåga som väntar på att släppas loss!”

The Muonio High School gave me the opportunity to focus on the fields and subjects which were close to my heart. Through an immensely flexible arrangement and commitment to the student's ambitions, I was given the opportunity to continue my classes in the French Language during my final year even though all other students had dropped out of the French class. Thus, I was the only student taking French and the only student taking French language final examination in the school.

Repurposing public education: governmental rationality of education export in Finland through public education problematisations
Journal of Education Policy
ABSTRACT
The Finnish government’s education export (FGEE) programme, which was initiated in 2010, seeks to promote and coordinate education as an export product. Until recently, research on the Finnish education export has focused on individual education sectors, with only passing consideration of the governmental rationality of education export. The Finnish government’s education export (FGEE) programme, which was initiated in 2010, seeks to promote and coordinate education as an export product. Until recently, research on the Finnish education export has focused on individual education sectors, with only passing consideration of the governmental rationality of education export. Drawing on Bacchi’s (2009) post-structural policy analysis, I use the FGEE documents as a material starting point, as ‘practical texts’ (Bacchi 2009, 34; Bacchi and Goodwin 2016, 34) to study how education export discourse problematises public education and produces a contextualised governmental rationality. Contributing to the growing body of knowledge on emerging global, national, and local public – private structures, the paper illustrates how minor policy strands such as the FGEE programme can be seen as production sites in which education practices and their governmental rationalities are constructed. -

Creative Benchmarking in Marketing Education: Comparing Best Practices among Divergent Universities
Journal for Advancement of Marketing Education

On the basis of what has been written on benchmarking in general, this article considers the concept in the tertiary marketing education context by investigating educational cooperation possibilities using systematic curriculum comparisons between two marketing departments located in Finland and in New Zealand. While relatively little research focusing on international educational benchmarking is available, the study attempts to pave the way for benchmarking between universities and other tertiary institutions that wish to develop their research and teaching.
This article offers creative benchmarking, a variation on traditional benchmarking techniques. The key findings of the project indicate that educational benchmarking comparisons are especially beneficial and valuable in planning new course content, introducing innovative teaching methods, re-structuring the curriculum and exploring possibilities for future cooperation. Furthermore, the results of the study suggest that motivation for intrinsic cooperation building seems to be higher when the partners genuinely know each other.Muut tekijätKatso julkaisu -
