This week was Global Goals Week, a dedicated time to promote awareness and action for the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). At Stora Enso, we support all 17 goals but focus on the three where we can make the most significant impact: 💚 Goal 12: Responsible Consumption and Production — We aim to offer low-carbon, renewable, and circular products, replacing fossil-based materials. We work in a circular bioeconomy to reuse and recycle materials, to minimise waste, and to maximise the value of material streams by creating circular material flows in the value chain, while reducing our own process waste to landfill. 🌳Goal 13: Climate Action — Stora Enso’s products help to reduce CO2 emissions by providing low carbon, renewable, and recyclable alternatives to fossil fuels and other non-renewable materials. We have set science-based targets to reduce CO2 emissions from our own operations and across our value chain by 50% by 2030, from the 2019 baseline. 🌱 Goal 15: Life on Land — We contribute to the sustainable management of forests, working to protect biodiversity and maintain ecosystem health. Through careful monitoring, we strive to ensure the responsible sourcing of our wood. As Global Goals Week 2024 comes to a close, let’s celebrate our progress and keep moving forward. Together, we can create a sustainable future! #globalgoalsweek #sdg
