Last week we did enjoy beautiful scenery (and off course smoke sauna) in Finnish Archipelago when RABN crew did get together in Herrankukkaro for crew event 2/3 for this year. Theme of the day was fishing. Catch of the day was perhaps not that great as last year, but more important is to see each other’s in relaxed surroundings and enjoy the day together. RABN - Rederi Ab Nathalie as employer do valuate fellowship and social cohesion, therefore we see that crew events are important part as preventative bridging to avoid gap between management and employees. For us, every employee is important. #crew #shipowners

WE ARE SETTING SAIL Literally. We are proud to announce that RABN - Rederi Ab Nathalie has made significant investment to life-time extension of mv Odda Marie, the vessel built in 1996. Odda Marie is presently in dry-dock at Damen shipyards in Harlingen where the modifications are done as part of the scheduled dry-docking scope. The life-time extension, as we call it, does include many technical upgrades and overhauls to existing technics, but also some new features will be installed. The carbon footprint of the vessel will be improved by installing wind-assisted propulsion system called VentoFoils provided by Econowind and Shorepower system enabling zero emission loading/discharging during port calls. The total investment to life-time extension is corresponding ca 25% of subject vessels secondhand value. The actions taken hereby can be considered as serious step towards more sustainable operations. The decision to invest to wind-assisted propulsion in form of VentoFoils from Econowind is logical and fully in-line with our mindset which is based on “think outside of the box”. We see great potential in #wind-assisted propulsion in certain traffic areas, of which the North Sea being one of most optimal, area where our Odda Marie is trading. At Econowind we are thrilled to collaborate with Rederi Ab Nathalie on the life-time extension project for the mv Odda Marie. The decision to invest in this endeavor demonstrates a commitment to sustainability and innovation within the maritime industry. The installation of our VentoFoils wind-assisted propulsion system will not only improve the vessel's carbon footprint (EEXI) but also contribute to more efficient and environmentally friendly operation in emissions per Nautical Mile says Frank Nieuwenhuis from Econowind. #shipandshipping #maritime #windpropulsion #shipping #sustainability
