Freshly graduated MSc (Biotech) & Athlete

✨Milestone celebration✨ I’m pleased to announce that I have graduated with a Master’s degree from Tampere University! This journey turned out to be more complex than I had anticipated due to my long COVID interrupting my studies. However, being finally able to continue pursuing my degree, I learned so much more than I would have during an ideal schedule. My own, first-hand experience as a patient has definitely prepared me for my desired future career in the field of health. My thesis on Ambulatory Electrodermal Activity (EDA) Measurements in Long COVID Rehabilitation: The patients’ experience found EDA measurements to be helpful for long COVID patients’ recovery. If interested, feel free to read the thesis here: https://lnkd.in/dweRYNKa. I want to thank Nuanic and Henna Salonius for providing a perfect topic for my Master’s thesis. I couldn’t have asked for a more meaningful subject to research.

Viime viikolla fiilisteltiin uusia tiimin jäseniä, tällä viikolla uusia tutkimustuloksia, joita päästään pikkuhiljaa raportoimaan. #mediuutiset tiivisti Börnis-tutkimuksen tuloksia, jonka tavoitteena on lisätä tietoa työuupumuksen fysiologisesta perustasta sekä fysiologisten mittausten käyttömahdollisuuksista työterveyshuollon työkaluna. Tutkittavia osallistui kolmesta suomalaisesta yrityksestä: Vincit, Solita ja Heltti. 💡 Tutkimuksen johtopäätös on, että ihon sähkönjohtavuuden pitkäaikaismittaukset voivat toimia työuupumuksen varhaisten merkkien tunnistamisessa ja ennaltaehkäisyssä jo ennen kuin henkilö itse kokee uupumisen oireita. Kiitos haastattelusta Anne Lahnajärvi! #työuupumus #EDA #biomarkkeri #työkykyjohtaminen

📢 Exciting Research sneak-peek! Our recent study delves into the largely unexplored realm of using electrodermal activity (EDA) as a biomarker for job burnout and work engagement. Here's a quick rundown: 🔍 Objective: Investigate the association of job burnout and work engagement with autonomic nervous system (ANS) activity via continuous, long-term EDA measurements. 📊 Methodology: Participants: 123 knowledge workers. Duration: 1.5-year longitudinal study, with 14 consecutive days of follow-up every six months. Tools: Continuous EDA recordings and short self-report surveys on emotional valence (EV). 📈 Findings: The diurnal variation of DNE, an index developed for EDA measurements, reflects ANS activation and is associated with burnout and engagement. EDA and EV variables enhanced the model’s ability to explain burnout and engagement. Both burnout and engagement are high arousal states, indicating potential health risks. ✅ Conclusion: Burnout and engagement are meaningfully associated with EDA. Continuous EDA recordings and brief self-report surveys on EV are feasible tools for measuring occupational well-being. For those interested in the detailed findings, check out the preprint research paper here: SSRN Note: This research is a preprint and has not yet been peer-reviewed. #Research #WellbeingAtWork #JobBurnout #WorkEngagement #Biomarkers #EDA #EmployeeWellness #WorkplaceHealth #LongitudinalStudy

🌟 Exciting Insights on Employee Mental Workload Monitoring! 🌟 We recently asked for your thoughts on sensor-based mental workload monitoring inspired by a study by Pütz et al. 2022. Key Findings from the study "Using IoT devices for sensor-based monitoring of employees' mental workload: Investigating managers' expectations and concerns" Managers overwhelmingly see the benefits of workload monitoring, including 💗 increased awareness of employee well-being, ✅ improved work conditions, 🔎 detection of occupational safety risks, and 🍭 incentivizing positive behavioral changes. However, privacy and data sovereignty concerns are significant. Implementing robust data privacy measures, like anonymization and limited accessibility, is crucial for trust and successful adoption. Interestingly, support for these systems varies across countries, hinting at the influence of regional and cultural factors. Further research is needed to explore these differences. Join the conversation on balancing the benefits and privacy in workload monitoring! https://lnkd.in/d2iq5EsG #WorkplaceWellness #EmployeeProductivity #DataPrivacyAwareness

This is the Mental Health Week. Like every week of the year should be. Nuanic supports Mental Health Europe's this year's theme, "Better Together—Co-creating the future of mental health."Mental Health Europe’s definition of co-creation: A collaborative approach involving all actors in mental health working together on an equal basis to develop and implement policies, services, programmes and communication that foster positive mental health according to a psychosocial model and human rights-based approach. #EuropeanMentalHealthWeek #BetterTogether
